My point was that NASA becomes the butt of budget cutting by politicians, when in fact it is an insignificant part or our national budget. People see spacecraft, and assume it costs nearly all our dollars to make it work.

Nobody really knows the budget... but it's HUGE.

I dont have a problem with space programs, but i think a mature government that cares about its country would post pone all un-needed funding for things that do not effect the "now" of our country. Whew, it's a good thing we aren't spending more than $15 billion on NASA out of the 904 TRILLION DOLL...
