Obviously if you die with it on you lose your weapons, but if you have ghost or res, which all players do eventually, you can use it still until you ghost and then if you do, don't reapply it until the next wave so there is no risk of losing weapons. This makes it too easy to be extremely fast. Usually when I play, just about everyone is extremely fast eventually. The speed 5's, just like the shield regen's, are better because they give players who get more than one power weapon more speed. So if you have a unlucky game and get only 2-3 power guns with a speed 5 on each, you will be a little faster but if you get 5-6 you can get about as fast as a superspeed. So based on that, I think that if super speed was eliminated but the single and 5 speeds were left the way they are, then it would reward players later in the game who get speed 5's throughout a game. The way it is now, the first person to get a SS on a map will have a huge advantage on picking up powerups over everyone else. They aren't very common so usually in the first few waves, the collecting part of the game, maybe 1 to 3 people at the most get one. The idea of an ability other than quickfoot for more speed would be bad because it would make it even harder for low level players to grab powerups. The people with max quickfoot already have a small advantage. Giving everyone even more speed from the start with an ability would put the lower level players at an even greater disadvantage. Single speeds and Speed 5's are the way to go!
I'm laughing now.......Now, you're promoting "stacking" which a few here are trying to eliminate. Myself, I don't have a problem with as there is no difference between putting a PU on 10 weapons or simply performing the weapon toss/pu trick.

I already think this comment is rather amusing since TMoney is the person whom I see grabbing power ups from everyone despite their level and then giving out stuff only after he gets something he wanted.
In v180 I offered an Inf pu to anyone who didn't have their first one before I put a second one on my wop. If I see a person going after a power up I stop and go back to killing instead of running after it. I don't bother with speed5, single speeds, or the superspeed and I don't reconnect or suicide just because I have a bunch of negative weapons.

hey.. I have an idea with respect to speed, keep it...... only, instead of monsters dropping the powerups, they go straight to your inventory in a random fashion as it would in regular play, should you have 3 in inventory, they get dropped to the floor as it normally would do... if someone asks for a pup, those that play fair will be found out, those that seem to want to grab every damned pup on the map... you will be found out... right tired of seeing pups drop knowing they will be put in several other weps that will most likely never be used other than for stacking, such as shield pups(good idea)... all you need is 2 good weps for those that use a non splash wep, otherwise 1 is fine... sometimes helps to have more than 1 wep loaded when a lot of high levels are playing, need to set the threshold of negative weps for high lvl players to a more sane level, having 5 weps that are -2 through -5 on any map is too short a time to try and fix them

Well relating to stacking, I just thought that players slowly building up speed over time is better than getting one powerup that makes a player super fast early in a game. Its random chance and luck that determines who will get one first, and whoever that is obviously has an advantage. I usually end up grabbing single speeds cause its better than nothing and then at least I'm not left in the dust. Sure some players will still end up with more than others, but at least that way everyone can get a little faster bit by bit and have a better chance of picking things up.

I love this Idea, if its possible than it would be very beneficial. Other than the obvious one retention, and regen powerups, speeds are the only thing I myself and most players ever use off of a main weapon, so this would prevent people who are already fast getting more speeds for their extra guns before others with none yet can get them. No matter what a person does or tries to do, you are always going to randomly run over powerups in games randomly because they drop all over the place. People will always get stuff they don't need when they aren't even looking to take anything, from just running around and playing the game. It would be cool if somehow you could get a random powerup for each kill, and then have a powerup also drop from each monster. A lot of the time more than one powerup drops from each monster but sometimes none does, so each way could have a random chance that increases depending on the time its been alive like the way it is now. Maybe 1/3 the time it drops, 1/3 the time it goes into the players inventory, and 1/3 the time both things happen! Wouldn't that be wonderful!
