Need your feedback for Patch 180 starting level

Re: Need your feedback for Patch 180 starting level
After playing the development server last weekend and working out the balancing and game difficulty issues with the patch; All of the testers seemed to agree on the state of balance, and difficulty it is at now. With that being said starting at level 10 is insanely difficult, but at level 50 it seems just right for a starting level.
My vote is for level 50.

Re: Need your feedback for Patch 180 starting level
Historically when we have released patches we overwrite the main server with the new patch. Before patch 179 there was 178, 177 and so on. Unless there is a petition started we plan on replacing 179 with 180 like we have historically done. Most people don't want to play on an old patch when there is a new one because of all of the new features introduced in new patches. We'll still keep a copy of 179 backed up on the server so if people ask for it and are feeling nostalgic and are missing 179 then we could always setup a 3rd server though I don't think many people will play it when 180 gets released. So to be clear, we don't currently intend to leave 179 up, we plan on replacing it with 180. But if a significant number of people request the 179 server stay up when we would be able to keep a copy of the 179 server up and running.

So what your saying is that with EVERY new patch we're going to restart our lvl's.BaronVonRotterdam wrote:Historically when we have released patches we overwrite the main server with the new patch. No we won't reset levels every patch. The plan after 180 is to do smaller patches periodically with a few new features and bug fixes in them. This is to get new content and fixes into the game faster, and Paintball or Joey won't get bogged down or burned out.

Re: Need your feedback for Patch 180 starting level
No, I was strictly talking about the new patch replacing the old patch. The RPG stats from the 179 server are being carried over to the 180 server. When Patch 180 launches Arch you will be level 347 like you are now on the 179 server. I just finished "porting" over the stats from 179 and got them ready for 180.Archangel wrote:So what your saying is that with EVERY new patch we're going to restart our lvl's.BaronVonRotterdam wrote:Historically when we have released patches we overwrite the main server with the new patch.
