well sorry to say that but i´m a bit amused about that discussion. not because of the negative sites, not because it looks like you start to kill each other in real-life every moment, but because of an old phrase:
"history repeats itself!" sometimes it needs centuries, sometimes only some years... i can only speak for the situation in germany. we have that problem longtime now and there is no end in the near future (maybe if some heads get cut off...) the problem here is, more than 80% believe, its the oilcompanies who make big money. in germany its our politics! i can research whereever i want, the tax we must pay pro/per liter (!) is announced between 70-80% !!! in moment i need to pay 1.55 euro/liter.
1.55euro - 75%tax = ~0.39euro real price/1 liter (in germany.. dunno taxes and other costs in other eu-neighbourcountries)
well...
...but EVERYTHING ELSE EXPENSIVE........when fuel costs rise, so does everything else.........that's everything.....veggies, milk and all products that need get get transported to a retail store........that's dumb !!!!
its dumb, but fkn truth. in germany. since 2-3 years.
gasoline more and more expensive, all others rise up too!
milk and butter for example costs 0.6-0.8euro. within half a year price now is nearly doubled! bread, pretzels etc, 1 pretzel 2 years ago 12-18 e-cent, now 35-55e-cent!
just try to imagine an example:
to bring all the food from whereever its made from city a to city b you maybe need a truck for it. it drives 300miles one way. to make a easy calculation it needs 30litres.
30l x 1.55euro = 46.5euro.
now lets "only" double the prize "again".
then one way transport = 93euro. you really think the food-transport-company say: its ok, gasoline costs doubled price now, but we still transport it for 46.5 euro ??????
who you think will take the rest of the cost? our state? our politicians? no, we, the consumers. if transport costs more, food and all others rise up!
who pays for it? again, we, the consumers.
its like a chain-letter, one time it comes up, it needs long time till it stops.
and if it stops and money was in that "game", then the great winners are the beginners.
but who started the oil-price-"chain-letter"? well, in germanys case politics,
the problem is, like in most countries of this mfkn world: how can we stop them? signing something doesnt help here. german laws makes this nearly impossible, except they can say its totally useless, let them sign whatever they want.
history repeats itself. looks like "america" has now "our" problem.
good luck solving it! i hope you have more possibilities in the "land of unlimited opportunity" (germans rough translation for USA)
when its done maybe our politicians can learn from yours...
but im not sure if this will happen in next ten years :-(
edited* btw:
