I and everyone I know had always good experiences with gigabyte and I'm personally using the MA790FXT-UD5P right now. All kinds of possible BIOS option + Double BIOS made it a really good choice for me. My next board is definitely going to be Gigabyte again (Not to mention the nice blue colour of their boards).
Also updating their BIOS works "on the run" meaning while your OS is running. Saves a lot of hassle.

I've ran a few Gig mobos in my AMD (K5 & 7) days and they were great.

Yeah I have heard good things about Gigabyte and am personally an ASUS fan. Both companies are great though. MSI seems to be iffy though in the lower tier motherboards so just becareful there.

The only company so far I really heard bad things about is ASRock. Not personal experience though.

Another good thing about Gigabyte is their pretty much native support for overclocking. I just tried it once though, since I do not need that extra power, however it's always good to have it in stock. That being said with just an Quad-Core. I'll see if X-Rebirth or Mass Effect 3 end of this year will change my opinion.
