Notes UT2K4 to install on Linux Debian Lenny

Post by IIO » Thu Apr 09, 2009 8:16 am

If someone by chance one day you would try Debian Lenny and install UT2K4, i have some notes, just as it installed.

For install official driver nvidia (obviously for nvidia holders)
note:(gnome=gdm kde=kdm lxde=gdm)
#apt-get install binutils build-essential linux-headers-$(uname -r) pkg-config xserver-xorg-dev
# /etc/init.d/gdm stop
# aptitude install module-assistant
#m-a prepare
#CC=gcc-4.1 sh NVIDIA-Linux-x yourversiondriver.run --x-module-path=/usr/lib/xorg/modules -a -n -N
# /etc/init.d/gdm start
so now you can follow my guide, here on MMIF
GUIDE:UT2K4 ON UBUNTU LINUX 7.04-8.10 64bit NATIVE INSTALLER

note2-AUDIO PROBLEM:
if by chance you do not feel the sound as it happened to me, install alsa-oss
#apt-get install alsa-oss
then run for UT2K4 (at least until i am here I'll make a launcher on lxde) press alt + F2 and type
aoss ut2004
