What type of music do you listen to?

i like all kinds of music..almost something from every single genre there is. i admit i am not much into hip-hop and rap songs, but i have heard some of the songs my sister plays of those types and some turn out to be very very well done with a melody and vocal tapestry that can't be dismissed. usually, however, most of it just sounds like attitude talking at fast pace.

this will be the first place you guys have heard me say this, but i too used to be a major partier back from ages 18-22. almost every single day (well, usually nights but not always) i was drunk, stoned, or whacked out on something with one friend or a few, or even alone. in that time we usually listened to classic rock that made great sit-and-talk-and-get-crapfaced music. this included grateful dead, the doors, pink floyd, hendrix, etc etc. since those days i have come across more i have taken a liking to. i like a lot of techno and trance music, and i also love ambient new age music currently now as well. one of my favorite groups is Enigma because it seems they seem to have mixed and matched a lot of those genres into some good tunes.

and..

i freaking love the music to video games. seriously, i have played video games since the atari and in all that time since, so many selections from the games have become favorites. and whats even more stellar about video game music is how some remix them to make them more intricate, modern, and very acoustically creative. such places like http://www.ocremix.org/ and http://www.vgmix.com/ (currently down for a redoing) have provided teacks that will always have a place on my harddrive :}

all in all, i think i will go as far to say that when it comes to music, i think vocal and words are unimportant to a true composition. its the feel i get from a melody that makes it for me the most, whether is upbeat, spacey, depressing, romantic, or what have you. i think this may be why i have found much liking to game music..its music thats constantly created and new to provide a good setting in a game's environment. i am not downing vocal songs, either, because i love just as many as those too. but at the core, its the instrumental arrangements and beat that make the most to me ^,,^

I don't listen to music much anymore, but now that I have starting taking opiates again I have got into it a little bit. I pretty much listen to the same artists, and a lot of old school stuff. It's mostly rap, a little metal and rock, a little r&b, but 95% rap.
Ludacris, 50-Cent and G-unit, XZibit(hes so censored underrated, his shit is so good), some of eminems old shit (his new stuff blows) Jay-Z, Snoop dogg (same his new shit isnt as good) B.G, Juvenile, Lil Wayne, and other old cash money stuff, some non rap stuff: Korn and Limp bizkit are the main 2 there. Their old stuff is good too, but newer stuff isnt so much. Oh, and how could I forget, I used to listen to nothing but 2pac and biggie back in the day, but I've played it all out, it brings back too many bad memories now. I know a lot of people despise hip-hop, and that how I feel about bands like say Green Day (I HATE THEM PLEASE STOP MAKING THAT ANNOYING NOISE QUEERS) but its just music, no reason to seperate people because of what type they like. heh Angel Dust we should hang out, ride down the street with my subs bumpin and a blunt rollin heheh. :hwsb2:
