Zombie, I knew that FLAK CANNON OF POWER REJUV was too much for your machine,
j/k
Sorry to hear that Zombie.
This kind of sounds like what happened to server Saturday.
The power supply went out and costed me $245.00 for new power supply and technical support.
Hope to see you soon and that you get it worked out.

Ok so my power supply went poof. On Friday I bought a new one and the pc still wouldn't power up. On Monday I took it to the closest computer place and after a few hours they said both my power supplies were bad, my hard drive was bad, and both of my cd roms were bad.
Ok I know that's bs because I tested each one in a different computer and told them so. After a long pause where he didn't say anything I said "so it's either the mobo or the cpu" and he said..."uhh probably".
So I tell him to slap in a different cpu while I waited. 30 minutes later he says the pc still won't start. So I tell him to put my cpu into a known working comp and viola it works!
I ask and he says he doesn't have any mobos and will have to order it. I tell him to overnight the damn thing because I didn't want to wait.
He couldn't overnight it because it was already 5pm so I told him to do it first thing Tuesday.
So Wed comes around and I goto pick up the pc. He says "I got all of your cd roms and hard drive to work, but you have to re-install xp because it won't boot".
Well since then I've tried everything I can but I can't get the damn pc to boot from a cd rom drive so I can repair my xp partition and get back to gaming
So now I have to search the net and see if I can find a way around this snafu

Actually I haven't tried F2 but I did the F5 and F8 (along with holding shift and ctrl) and no boot from cd rom option.not2bad wrote:did you press f2 or some other key it tells you to press when you power on your pc then choose boot from cd rom?
It's a copy of a copy of xp pro and I remember having problems installing it on the new hd (had to restart a couple of times before it would go all the way through) but it always would boot from cd rom.
I think I'm finally caught up on the forums so I'm off to do some surfing and hopefully get this damn thing back to "normal" again
