MAJOR WINDOWS SECURITY PATCH!

Post by BaronVonRotterdam » Mon Oct 16, 2006 9:36 pm

Hey guys, apparently some bastard created a way of hacking your windows (read review below)

Microsoft posted 11 security bulletins on 10/10/2006 including a patch for a new, zero-day vulnerability in the Windows Shell that can be exploited by visiting malicious web sites (see

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/securi ... 6-057.mspx).

Organizations should apply this patch immediately after appropriate testing followed by the other patches as soon as possible. In addition, organizations are encouraged to ensure that anti-virus, anti-spyware and url content filtering signatures are updated on a daily basis and to remind users not to visit unknown web sites or click on URLs in emails from unverified sources.

I dunno if it affects all of us windows users but it came up as an alert for us new yorkers at one of a new york cyber safe website. Well anyways download the update if you feel you need to, just looking out for you guys. Take care and see you on the server :D
