It is a little problems for all of us european players.

I too was kicked without any notice once..

After that i leave by free will when my ping is over 200.

And kicking at level 19 or 20 after almost an hour playing ,that really hurts. :butthead:

And i agree with ortega, tell who you are and dont hide under a name.

I do know Joey sent a e-mail regarding the ping's to admins. PLEASE go back and Read it and learn it...Kick me if you want. You don't have to like me but I'm not going to stand down for something I and many people aren't doing any wrong just because you can't simple read e-mail right. It said to check into the pings. Not KiCK a ping at 150 in wave 19 . There is no EASY BUTTON damit its not staples. It's life if you can't handle the responability given then tell Joey. He won't think any less of you even though I WILL. LMAO

this should be my hello-here-i-am/wellcome-message but im not in da mood for happy wellcomes, im fckn pissed about that "WEBADMIN" who fear telling his real-name and who hides behind that "WEBADMIN"

i know the first who brought up that "ping check is in progress" and make some players include me a bit nervous with taht message, was sickpuppy, but he answers alllways.

this webadmin dint

I KNOW AXE TYPES MUCH IN CAPS LOCK

this webadmin did
but he didnt answer
SO WHO DO YOU FEAR?
ME?
IS THAT WHY YOU START TO TRIGGERHAPPY KICK PLAYERS WITH OVER 200 PING NOW, "WEBADMIN",
INSTEAD OF TRIGGERHAPPY BANNING THEM?

or were you still pissed cause the server was full and you couldnt play?

thanx for kickin me in wave 19, yes there was some freezes (some called it like allways: "lag") but the rest was fine and noone moaned.

btw, did you kick mrsd with her ping 204 too in wave 20?? didnt see it i was removed again!

but what i see was mrsd was not in next map but axe was now there.

so i only can guess he was it.
if, then it looks like he didnt want to learn like many others who allways think its only highpingers fault...
its not enough to tell it those 20 peeps who read the forum or are constantly here, it should be told them who PLAY too, and it looks like there are more playin than reading some forumnews

theres a post from joey about witch-hunting highpingers, whoever this "WEBADMIN" was today, didnt read that.
thank you
Haven't you heard? Just go into the console, type in "exit" therefore it exit outs all the lag by 60% and you automatically get an email from joeyz himself and you get a free $10 gift card to Denny's when you order off the breakfast menu.

Yeah I was around for this to (like I said, a lot of guys with PMS yesterday). I also found that it was REALLY odd the web admin didn't identify themself, especially at the request of several people. I think there should be a refresher course with the admins on what's proper policy. Kinda like how businesses have employee seminars when customers start complaining about bad service. Rules should be set for things like how to properly identify themselves when in webadmin, valid/invalid reasons for kicking/banning people, etc. I'm going to take the benefit of the doubt and say that it was just a misunderstanding, "webadmin" noticed several people complaing about lag and was attempting to remedy it in his/her own best way. I did find the whole situation odd as it was the first time I saw a "ping check in progress" after all the time I've been playing. But I found that whole gaming session to be really odd.

I blame solar flares.

well, i i dunno really how much admins the MMserver have, but i think i and many other eu-players like mrsd and ariel are playin long enough so most or all should know where we came from (me germany, mrsd uk, ariel sweden etc...), and i guess w/e this webadmin was
knows it too. just to speak for him, sure, he didnt ask me where i came from, but if i remember right he said twice my pings to high over 200.
ok, fine, but what should i do in wave 19? leave and reconnect to hope of all pings goin down? thanks anyways for not kickin all others who had pings around 150 that time, i bet only 2 or 3 would stay then...

i know i have much problems with not seeing weapons, pus, monsters, players, weaponfire when my ping is 280+ . if i recognize that im not playin because it makes no sense, or i just try to finish the map (which worked often enough with a good flak and panic-shooting to that direction whereever i heared monsters coming from) and leave then.

still to explain my high-ping-situation:
2 problems:

1. its allmost when i play between 2pm-11pm (+/- 1 hour, depends on weekend or not, european time) which is a "bottleneck-time" for me because its like 90% of all germans are online now.
some say maybe i have a crap-pc, but be sure it isnt. some say maybe i have viruses, trojans spyware etc w/e causes lags to my pc or bandwide-problems. well, one question to all who think i have that:
did you ever seen a virus, trojan or spyware which only and allways worked between 2pm and 11pm (+/- 1 hour and eu-time)? i not. maybe there are some.
why i ask this stupid question? then answer me why i have mostly before and after that time a censored "good" constant ping around 160-170?????

2. i live in a fckn small small small dump village "far" away from any big city, and all i got here is a fckn 378k-connection (which is normally enough to play ut, its no problem on eu-servers to play with a 64-128k-connection and a ping around 40-80, and it doesnt matter if its simple dm or pc-blasting inv)
we have something like monopoly situation here, an establishment called "telekom", which posses like 99% of all phonelines in germany.
yes we have many providers, but all must rent it from telekom.
the problem is, telekom dont care who you are, where you live. so it doesnt matter which provider i take, if telekom dont think they can make much money with our 1000 inhabs, then there will be no faster connection available here!

and like some say, try a ping test to mm-server, yes i did, and i did a trace too, and its horrible... the ping is "normal" for the distance, around 148-172, the problems are the "hops" or if you want say it in "ut-speak" *path-nodes* between me and the mm-server. they change between
12-26, and the more there are the higher my ping get. so, the later it is
(after 11pm) the more european onliners disconnect and dont "use" these hops, the lower my ping is. thats why i call it bottleneck-time.

so i hope this will end most of discussion about my high ping.
ty for reading and hope for understanding, if not ask vaptor ;-)
amy

ps: a good friend of mine, ingame name "d!x!-ma$ter", livin 30miles from me, has exactly same problems, small village, same connection etc..
only different is his english isnt really the best, and he often enough didnt read what others write cause he have enugh to do with understanding easy things so he only try to kill and survive and didnt response much.
so thats it for his "high-ping" too, and please dont hate him or others who have problems with speaking/reading english and not answering within 5 seconds!

@nard, i think know you mean it more like j/k, but well, exit doesnt
help others to get "no lag", while i have my "<normal> high ping"
and dont experience any lag at that time. sure "it >can< (its not a must-allways-be-the-only-reason) throw others lag and errors and problems, but tilll now there was NOONE, who could tell me why i ALLWAYS have no problems at that time when someone cry "lag"! (only exceptions are when my ping reaches 250 and "disapearing of <ALL>" began or when smith throws the first nuke ingame it shortly freezes, and if it explodes it sometimes feezes a "bit" too, but this happens to others too when im not online, so its not my fault!)

and like joey said: explain "lag", damit!!!! (hes right, it doesnt help to find out what is the reason for lag or lag-spikes when you only accuse others to be the reason for "lag" and all you do is kickvote and not tellingl "how it looks like"!)
we should make a new thread like:
how does your "lag" looks like? im really interested how many say "its like a dia-show" or "i have only 4 fps... "

@ortega
nice smiley-story :-)))))))))))) and many thanx for all ingamehelp!

@ airrrr man
well dont missunderstood, i wasnt banned, just "removed" at a bad time...
sure its an "admin-problem", but like i recogniced joey is all to busy many times to read pms or answering here, so i posted it here...

i forgot one last thing:
to all admins:
next time if you "need" to kick a highpinger or whoever, i think you should think about a last-wish-option like: wait till "the one" tossed a good wep or two to someone who could need it or keep it to share to next who joined, so at least this wasnt a waste of time to load it and make it power- and helpfull and now its loss cause of "removing"...

It wasn't me

Post by cJBlast » Mon Mar 12, 2007 11:47 pm

Hey everyone,
If you are talking about the WebAdmin that was spectating this past weekend. That has been me.

I did tell people when I came on who i was, Im not hiding from anyone..
Im sorry i missed some of the chat or didn't reply back to someone. I really didn't have time to chat much and I didn't kick or ban anyone for pings.
Allthough I have noticed a few high pings, most of the time they would go back down the next wave

I have been checking logs for errors in the maps as everyone is playing them. It has really helped determine what items in the maps that are causing lag.
As some of you know we have been reworking the maps to work better with joeys monsters and his server. So far over 84 maps have been pulled and are on the list to be fixed. On that note, I would also like to thank everyone that has been helping fix them but I'll go into more detail about the in another post.

Anyway, As for me. I will ask you about your ping before I even think about kicking anyone.... Thats only if it stays high for a while or is causing probems.

Well thats the way i think it should be, I could be wrong. I was once before but that was when i just thought i was wrong :butthead:
