Though a valid point this is why. Anything I own I take pride for, it represents me. Thats why I like to take care of the things I own. If I buy anything with my own hard earned money I take great care of it because you never truly respect anything unless you sweat for it. Since I own and run this forum I want it taken care of. I don't want it looking like someones bathroom wall. I want it looking clean and professional. Its your choice whether or not you curse but there is no need for it. In the real world if you are looking for a professional and respectable well payed job you had better learn to speak without using profanity or you don't have a chance. So the censors are here to replace words that will degrade the integrity of this forum. If you find that your curse words are being replaced and you are annoyed then tough luck. Try speaking with some intelligence and none of your words will require censorship.

I am not talking about you wanting to take pride in something you own. That's a valid point. However, the minute you open something for public use, you know longer "own" it - those who utilize it do.
You're also right that in order to succeed in the professional world, you need to act, walk, and talk like a professional.
However, this forum is not "the professional world" - it's a forum for regular people who interact with each other in a VIDEO GAME - HARDLY professional in most any sense of the activity itself (look up "leisure" in the dictionary) - to act, walk, and talk as they would in their regular day-to-day activities.
Cursing is not about "integrity" in the forum - it's about expressing one's self in a way that is personal for whomever is doing the expressing. Also, in many cases it adds to the conveyance of emotion, something that in and of itself is difficult enough to do in a forum. Exactly how much "integrity" do you need when discussing matters involving a VIDEO GAME?
Try getting off your high horse, your soap box, whatever it is that makes you want to seem so high-and-mighty, and look at this for what it *IS* - not for what you IMAGINE it to be.
Simply put, it's enough that I go through the day at my professional job w/o cursing that I then have to go to someplace I relax/have fun and have some 14-year-old tell me to act professional and not cuss. Suck my hairy sweaty balls.
Try speaking with some intelligence? PHAH! Who the hell are you to judge what is intelligent and what is not? You don't even have a high school diploma yet, and probably don't even know what a diaphragm or a vibrating butterfly does.
It's not that I don't like you Painttt - I should hope you know otherwise. It's just that I get more than a little pissed when some PFY (Pimply-Faced Youth) some 20 years my younger tells me how I should be conducting myself during my leisure activities. I've lived too long and hard a life to put up with crap like that. Maybe you should bone up on your constitutional rights, particularly that whole First Amendment Right to Free Speech/Expression deal, before you set about judging others. One day the tables will be turned on you, and I guarantee you dislike it as much then as I do now.
