Vote about the forums word censors

This whole post was about a compromise about word censors not getting them totally removed LIKE MOST OF THE PEOPLE THAT POSTED THINK! ( cough cough beast and bowls cough cough )

i'm not lobbying to have them removed. i simply voted on a poll about something that i, personally, wouldn't worry about on a forum. ultimately, i don't care if my post gets , unless the censorship mangles it.

i do, however, take slight exception to being called ignorant in an under-handed manner. whether that was your intention or not, take note that profanity is by no means a basis for intelligence.

well upon the poll expiring the votes will be tallyed and if yes wins (oh yeah there is no way it wont) then I will offer a few compromises but no words that contain four letters will be allowed no matter what (yes these should be fairly obvious to most of you).

Sorry kids, but I don't think my constitutional right to free speech should be trampled just because your parents refuse to take responsibility to what you have access to online.

"Free speech". None of us have any right to free speech here. This is a privately owned server/board, and we are guests. The owner of the forum has every right to restrict or edit what he wants.

We are all free to go somewhere else if these rules are too hard to follow. I run a board or two myself, and the rules are simple: Be nice to each other, and don't post illegal crap.

Oh, and the other rule: when it's on my nickel, it's my yard, and I can kick you out whenever I think you've crossed the line. Totally at my discretion.

Also might I add that google bots have been crawling the internet and have been attacking the forum for some time now. I got really tight on the word censors when they started posting links and images to pornography website. So if i remove a key word the links will be broken.

So thats why these words are blocked

so thats why those words were blocked. We were being flooded with pornogaphy bots so I replaced those words so the links broke and I also made it so you have to activate a link now thats in your email when you register to the forum.

You know you can just put in a security code and turn on email verification and that will stop the bots?

Ok with some guidance from my dad I am also brought to this fact. Why use swearing in the first place? It only takes a moment to think of a word other than swearing. Swearing just shows that you are incapable of speaking intelligently. I am also going to bring up the fact of people getting angry because their posts are being edited by symbols of censorship. Well heres is what I have to say to that.

You are still young so you will understand it later in life... Swearing doesn't mean shyt... You swear you swear. It says nothing about a person's intellect. Hell some big names swear too. Vince McMahon. Donald Trump. They are professionals that made it big time. They swear sometimes, does that mean they can't speak intelligently? Uhhhh noooooo.

You will learn how to limit yourself and know when and where you can speak freely and when to speak correctly and professionally when it matters...

Ok baldy swears...it's called acting and ratings, IE he only does it on TV. I doubt that he swears in real life unless he gets upset (who doesn't swear when they're pissed?).

This is so very true.

Anyways I will always believe that those people that cuss excessively are lacking in the intelligence department, or at the very least the manners department. It doesn't take a lot of brain power to not cuss.

So bowls don't be offended because nothing I said was directed towards you (or you beast). It was directed to the little kids that think it's cool to cuss and to those too ignorant not to cuss.

Since there are minors posting here Paint must abide by the obscenity laws and the child endangerment act laws just to cover his butt.
