Erm...Black Frenchman? I know they exist let's get that gag out the way, but I've never heard of the slang term.

The reaction...Probably a brief slap-age due to the "American" part. Just as any Englishman, Scotsman, Welshman....etc...

I joke of course. We're still the right side of the atlantic though d=)

The reason I asked this is because I heard of a story on the news where the reporter referred to a black member of the French parliament (or congress, or whatever mass democratic government representational office they have over there) as an African-American instead of just saying black. I hope they got fired for their stupidity. What self-respecting Frenchman would want to be referred to as "American" in ANY sense of the term, anyway?

You guys take things that are typed onto a screen too serious. There is a big difference between saying shit and writing it down. Yeah I am sure sticking up for myself was a shot in the foot.
