Trouble on my mind

I am not sure where i shall post this so i do this here.
First of all i like to give a big thanks for all the work that Joey and all the others that made this server has done. I really like what you have done.
But some things makes me a bit sad.
This day i played a map (iron something) twice. The first 6 waves worked rather well, but wave 7 to 20 i respawned without any weapon.
And before i change my name it was like it worked well the first 7-8 waves , but from wave 9 i lost synch totally.
I does not matter how many players there are (one map we where 8 players), or what ping i have.
Someone (cant remember who) told me that it was caused by low memory, so now i upgraded memory to 3 Gb.
So i just ask if there is any solution to this ?
If not, well then i can only say that generally i enjoyed playing with all of you guys and dolls.
And maybe i move on to something else (and loose friends again as i always do )or stay and camping the waves out.

Windows can only take 2 gb of memory anyways. But are you changing your gun alot because when the map lags you can lose your weapons. But Im not sure really why you lose you gun. Is it every map?

The lag can be caused by "low resources" not "low memory" in your case.
Next time you want to play you should shut down all programs except those vital to keeping your system running and UT.
I started doing this and noticed a big drop in lag on my end. I also don't use gore and have the display settings at "high".
I've only got 512Mb of RAM and a 128Mb video card on a 6Mb DSL line and I don't lose sync unless everyone else does.
If you aren't sure which programs to shut down (using the ctrl+alt+del option) then list them here and I'll tell you which ones you can safely shut down or "end task" on

Ortega: I not a person that change gun so often , so that is nor a problem. And it happends on all maps.
ZombieSlayer: The only program i run besides UT2k4 is f-secure. nothing else.
But an odd thing happend last time i played.. Pain played rather good even if he/she had a ping of 900 !!.
So i start to wonder, ( maybe useless to worrie if the server is gone for good)
But i can tell you that it became much worse in about 2 weeks ago.

Yes but are you going to play with your setting your configure it. Most people dont even know how build them. Stop downloading censored if you need more then 2.

No. I havent looked into Vista nor will I. Its all set up to favor Microsoft since the key can only be exposed twice to registration and its done. Most of the software is also used on the Key Registry now. But I wasnt impling that Windows can only run 2 Gigs. I was just simple stating its code is set to run 2. Anymore and the user has to configure it. Most people dont know how to change those setting either. Ingore the first post..(trying to post while on the phone with ford)

This is most likely due to PACKET LOSS from your ISP. You can do a test by doing a ping to Joey's server to find out how much packet loss your losing. You can do a continuous ping or just counted number of 100 to calculate your packet loss.
goto the command prompt and type:
ping 204.11.33.157 -n 100
Let this run for 100 times. Then read the packet loss percentage.
To trouble shoot continuously simply type this at the command prompt:
ping 204.11.33.157 -t
If you see any "Request time outs" there is failure somewhere in your ISP. Make sure you can do this ping procedure with your LAN cable modem which is usually 192.168.100.1 to eliminate internal errors.
You can always determine if your RAM amount is enough if your hard light doesn't hit after it's been cached when playing the game. If you have continuous hard hits (look for the hard drive light) while playing the game, then you know you need more ram.

The packet loss causes you to lose sync with the server. Also make note of the ping times, steady, spiked or over 250ms (1/4 second)?
