Wave 16 causing constant crashing?!?

Ok I dont know if its just bad timing, but 4 out of the last 5 games ive played have crashed. By crash I mean everything freezes up you are disconnected and the map is reset to the default. ](*,) Three were on wave 16, and on the fourth the game almost crashed wave 16 and then finished itself off wave 17. I don't really know why, maybe theres a new monster or something thats on wave 16 thats causing errors or something, I don't know. Two of the crashes were last night, and two were this morning/afternoon. I can't recall all of the maps, but I know one of them was on 1 on 1 desolation and two were on the default map, whatever the heck its called. Has anyone else noticed a lot more mid game crashing?

well only one error i used to get that same error when ever i spawned on the old server when he added the slider bar and changed the rpg bar to red. at least now i get some time to play. but like joey said he will look in to it.

More than likely it's the maps problem and not Joeys code.
Wave 16 is when the huge amount of monsters start to spawn (compared to other waves). If the map doesn't have enough playerstarts and pathnodes, the monsters have trouble spawning which throw errors out and the server switches maps.

That makes sense, especially with all those queens teleporting throughout the map... so yeah if its a map without many pathnodes than that could be the problem.

i have been playing a ton the past few days and not once in the 25+ hours did wave 16 show any issue at all.
are you sure you aren't just annoyed that those with good weapons and/or mad skillz use the queen wave to catch up to a high scorer well? ;}
seriously though, if this has happened to you over the course of the same time span of gaming, then perhaps that was just a funk time for the server. i know i have seen the gameplay degrade until the server crashes/reset due to system upkeep necessity after so much mayhem!

Drae that just means the maps you played weren't "bad/broken".

possibly and most likely. but when such errors occur, it does not hurt to relay which maps these were that had the problems :}
also, i think there needs to be a way to mark or take off the maps from the map list that are known to never load any more, and will always take one back to the default map. i wonder if there is some way this can be done

There is a tool in place already. Joey coded a map analyzer that removes maps that don't pass the check.
Every once in awhile though a map will just have a problem loading and the server kicks out the default map.

oh! i didn't know that that program did that. after hearing about all the map analyzer talk in game amongst you all, i actually thought it was just a program that would analyze monster spawn points, processability, errors, and the like to see if it is an efficient map for the server. thank you for letting me know :}
