Removing the nuke
i start this poll mainly to see what you guys may think of removing the nuke. personally, i am becoming rather fed up with how some people are abusing this weapon when they get it. normally it finds its way into someone's hands early on a map, and once they wop it and add resupply, it becomes neverending hell. nuke after nuke is released, sometimes up to 8 times a wave i have seen. and what the heck is up with using them on earlier waves, even before 7 or 8?
i think i have a particular problem some may have and others do not. when a nuke, player or enemy, goes off, my game starts to slow and get choppy even if i am not in the blinding blast. and the more that go off later, the worse the effect gets until the wave ends. then add this to later waves with more enemies and maybe someone with a high ping in the game. i can't barely move at certain times and i am hurt badly, ghost, or die.
then there is the visual interruption, that thick smokiness that makes seeing anything impossible, even with the awareness skill. perhaps the nuke goggle skill coming sometime will help, but i can't tell you how many times a far off titan gets me in the brown gale with its rock or such.
aside from my experiences, there is then the communal effect..everyone having major issues with excessive lag and all. some maps often get very unstable after the first ally-side nuke goes off and seems to make for a funkier time than normal the rest of the entire map. then there is the issue of the nuke-holder ghosting or dying while the nuke's blast is in effect, and more than half the team dies. or translocaters get broken and people die. this weapon is way more trouble than it is worth (like the near useless cutter rifle).
i can remember times that the nuke was a saver, and helped pass certain waves and ultimately a victory. it also makes for an interesting sight to see all the yellow dots immediately disappear. i normally stay quiet and do not complain when someone uses the nuke..properly. 2, maybe 3 times in post wave-10 waves is fine. but some just throw nuke after nuke out from their comfy little hangout spot and it becomes way too much to deal with. many often do not throw it anywhere where monsters are and don't kill a thing. and i'd rather not kick vote anyone for this, even if its a jerk thing to do, but still...most don't seem to give a damn how its affecting others so as long as they can make a big boom.
it is a weapon, rare to get, and it is meant to be used. but very rarely have i seen it used respectfully to other players. it may have killing ability, but it truly does not kill all that much that to great except in waves 18, 19, and 20. and in those waves, most of the time, one needs to keep moving, shooting something, or they wll die. the nuke weapon does not usually allow for that except from a perfect hiding spot.
i think the nuke should be had by smiths only, on the enemy side. just as us us players getting our special lil lady as a special weapon that the monsters can not have.

we should get rid of the lightning rod too, the same shit happens when you ghost while using it. oh wait, everyone likes the lightning rod.

and if you recall, i did slow it down somewhat when people complained of my spamming it... funny that no one had the balls to kickvote me, like you did to coke. AND on top of it all, we lost the match because i was too busy screwing around with my nifty nuke gun to realize i was one of the last alive and there was a wand approaching.

its still pointless to throw nuke after nuke out in those earlier waves. you could have killed more stuff for more pus to help the wop nuke in that time. and one can make or use any other weps in those earlier waves :p
i did not know the cutter rifle was getting an upgrade since i have not heard anything of the sort spoken before.
the lightning rod is great because it does many things, even at the cost of ghost-related kills. first, it offers higher level players to snag more experience using it, a hell of a lot more if your wop has much damage and rage. secondly, it kills well, incuding smith and effigy wands that can pose a greater threat, and not be a force that gets in the way of other players who can do some good as well. i tracked your score and your kills with the nuke while spectating....you hardly got that much. granted, the map is sectioned into halves and not as nice a place to use nuke than say the pooltable map.
i apologize if you took my words wrongly, you are the first i ever expressed dissatisfaction too to that degree with the nuke. hickey is pretty bad with it too
i was upset because my game experience that map was like trying to swim in molasses, and then seeing t-money kill "friendly" nukes with the shotgun's alt-fire to nearly double his score in one and a half waves while i was trying to keep up well just got me highly frustrated. also, that coke nuke map i played on that became infamous...i never submitted a kick vote. i was actually the one who provided him with his two resupplies for it to begin with. he was a bit overboard, but i knew after a few waves, they were invaluable for the lava pit monsters that got stuck so far down there. my belief will still hold, though. the nuke simply causes more problems than benefits. if its not removed, i don't care. i was purely just curious what others may think of the nuke's presence in the game while i submit my critical analysis of the weapon. but anyways... *licks your nuts* ^,y,^

Hmm, you know I have used the TD on other servers and I never thought it was that useful even with resupply. The nuke really doesnt kill much, I've got it before and never used it much, but its good for shooting down every redeemer in the map at once heheh. I think if resupply couldnt be used it might be better for people that are affected greatly by it going off. But still, for now, people can use whatever gun they want.
I agree with Zombie. i feel bad when I kill someone wth LR. I also dont shut more then one nuke a round. If it doesnt go off oh-well. I admit it can go or stay. what I would like to see is the the Kill Mutator come back. If someone could take that apart and change it to format for joeys server that would be better then LR. Great for XP not really points so some people wont like that Idea. But change the thing were it takes more kills to get Multi Kill all the way to Holy Shit.

it was a gun you had to summon. the alt-fire would release an orb of energy that moved slowly in a straight line from where you released it. the primary fire was a powerful ray of energy that, when in contact with the alt-fire orb, would refract in multiple directions and pretty much one-hit anything it touched. as far as i can remember it didn't have a limited range, when someone got one the game was practically over.hmm, i haven't been on the server as long as many of you. what exactly did the transdimensional thing actually do and how did it look?
