what are the new powerups and what do they do

here they are. now i will give some opinions for the heck of it. i haven't tried the flauncher pu, or the one unmentioned bio rifle pu yet. i did only play 3 maps today when i actually could get on

the plasma ball for link is definitely neat to shoot, and it offers splash damage, so heal is needed. unfortunately, this gun is very weak, its seemingly just as strong as a regular link gun shot, so its only benefit is the splash damage. up the base damage and we be talking about a nice new link gun pu!

bouncey rockets, haha! not stronger, but hey, its fun for regular rl stuff :}

i had no chance to test vortex shield, and somehow i don't really want to try titan rock shield if i don't have to <,,< the instagib shield definitely works! in sandstorm map earlier, i had one and went against a wand effigy with my mp5. with protection 5, full shields, and that pu, i took 5 shots from that monster and killed it eventually with like 130 health left. but, i guess it helped to reduce their strength since low level players were about too.

the web for bio rifle is so so bad. you need to hold down alt fire awhile to send out a spread version, and the immediate shot does next to nothing. i was hoping for like, a spider web thingy that laid on ground, trapped monsters, and hurt them while they were stuck.

i love the new monsters and such, very cool! and that predator is a major censored, hehe, going into invisimode to be all high in hp and such..cheap jerk! but its fun X}

the reflection effect i had not had much notice with on monsters from my experience, but cadmium had mini ssr on two of the maps and wasn't doing as well as normal as one would think, since she is very good as it is..so i suppose reflection does have a pronounced weakening on the newly reduced strength mini ssr.

aaaand, those are my new observances. i would be interested in hearing anyone else's who got to play more than i did thus far :}

I tried the instagib shield , and i think i works. I stayed alive every wave there was a wand (I normally dont).

The other shields i cant tell you about, cos the first map i had insta. and vortex shield but i got killed by a titan rock.

The second map i played yesterday i had vortex and rock shield , but i was killed by a wand.
Both on last wave.

The titan rock shield works well... I took two direct rock hits on one map and survived.

I tried the piercing upgrade for the bio rifle, and -- well... it seems weaker than the regular bio (unlsee I'm using it wrong). The primary fire shoots these tiny "bio bullets" that you can that you can barely see, and do next to no damage. Secondary fires a big "spikey ball" that floats through the air and then stops in midair, and then fires those tiny "bio bullets" in every direction... looks cool, but seems to do no damage...

Has anyone ever used the disruptor pu? I can never get one of those and the lightning gun at the same time.

I hear it takes two of the new shield power ups to work. I did take the time and try the Rock Shield and stand there waiting until a rock hit me. It took about a minute but the rock ripped me apart. Yeah I was about a inch away from the titan. I do believe with one it helps limit the damage but I think its still going to kill you. For the love of god is a ROCK to the head. I don't think I will be trying two. I seem to think its easier to watch for rocks then think the powers help that much. I have noticed when I get that much crap on my gun I think I'm GOD like and then I die, when in instance if I none of the new power ups. I play the same as I always have.

you forgot one thing, if you (are able to) see the rocks flying towards you (some talk about invisible rocks,w/e is meant with that, maybe lag, those which come from behind from a titan spawned behind me i cant see...) , and you or others didnt shoot them, but someone or you killed the titan while the rocks are flying toward you they wont kill you, or, what i dont know, maybe they can hurt you but no kill. so dont be surprised when in one of the next game you are rocked with 2 rockshields loaded..
the same (killing the monster which is firing a "slow" >weapon< )works for smith (nuke) and deemer-monsters, when they are killed nukes or deemer or rockets wont kill you, maybe just hurt you.

for the other shields, they can keep one or some hits, but its not a garant for beeing god. if you are one of last players and one or more wands and 1000monsters running toward you and you are in a dead-end location, you will die fast too...

we need another shield, for this i´ll make a another topic to be discussed.

btw ariel, yea that sux, happend to me too, allways the wrong shields loaded and getting killed by something i dont have...

What they dont protect you from is if you get rocked from two sides at once, ker splat, Jellied Chuckles anyone? :myst:

Gotta have 2 cause they protect 50% each and vortex is instagib assuming u get sucked in.

Same with rocks...they instagib so you need 2 of them.
