Ok well I have been trying for a few days to do it... I am ether just being n00bish and dooing it wrong or something is not working for me.

I have tryed the command

Set input x activateitem
Setinput x activateitem
SetInput x activateitem
SetInput x ActivateItem
Set Input x ActivateItem
set input x ActivateItem
set input x ActivateItem
set input x activateitem

and tryed it in dooing it with talk then deleting talk, and then putting it in, using tab to bring it up and using ~ to bring it up.

So if I am dooing it wrong can someone exsplain the exact right way to do it, or if not dooing it wrong what the problem could be and how I could go about fixing the problem.

Not sure what you are trying to do but search around on the forums thereused to be one about keybinds that coud help you but i really dont have the time to search is for you.
Also there was a thing on the main webpage about keybinds but at the currrent time it does not seem to be there, or i would have diorected you to that.
What are you trying to do exactly ? Post it and then i could help you out much easier !
Paint whats up with the thing on the page about Weapons Of Power......It tells me page cannot be displayed....could you look into it please !
Thanx :butthead:

Edit you INI file, and add the commands there.

It's easier, and you can see what is already assigned to other keys.

is what you are searchig for.

ActivateItem: This activates your current inventory item. IE: your artifacts and power ups

this is what he want to do. or in other words, he want to load a pu into his wep or activate artifacts... key is the same for it
for the set input comand, it doesnt matter if you write "s" or "S" or "i" or "I"...

ok, if you want do this ingame:
1. way:
open console with tab. on left side of screen on top you can enter commands now.
set input x activateitem
hit enter
small console closed, normally done.
if it not works
2. way:
open "halfscreenconsole" with "รถ" or tilde, depends on keyboardsettings or us/eu-keyboards...
you will have now splitscreen, top half is black, other you see rest of ingame.
now enter the same:
set input x activateitem
hit enter
normally done, if "something" is wrong you can read something like "unknown command". if this apears, try again, press cursor-up, so you see what you typed, maybe you entered something wrong.
if theres no errormessage, close console with key you opend it (or esc)
try if it works now. if you have pus AND a WOP, hit "x" and the descripted pu in your inventory should be loaded into the wop.
some weapon-specific-pus do not work in the wrong wops, you cant load them, so your "x"-key isnt broken!
some pu-combinations do not work, you will get a message or a beep!
not a reason for a not workin "x".

if it still fails to work, try the
1337-way: (ingame)
open console (doesnt matter which one)
type "preferences" (without the -> " <- !)
your ut will now apear in a new window, press ESC, look "behind" the ut-window, you will see another window, called "Advanced Options".
move your mouse to "+ Advanced".
klick it
4 new lines apear, search for "Raw Key Bindings"
klick it
now all keybinds appear in alphabetical order
scroll down (do not klick any, you can do many wrong sh!t here!) to your
wanted letter "x".
klick into the line and enter again "activateitem" . YOU DONT NEED "SET INPUT" NOW!
close that window (dont click any other things!!!) your "x-change" is saved ! there is no "yes" or "no"-requester!
click into your ut-screen and test again if it works now.

if not, close ut, open explorer and search for the user.ini in your
whatever:\ut2004\system-folder. hmmm.. i just remember, when you re-install an ut-image from cd or dvd, it could be the user-ini is write-protected, look for it and change it if needed. maybe this is another reason why its not workin ingame.
anyways. open the user-ini with editor like notepad.
search for your "x"-key and enter activateitem behind that: or like in my case:
U=use|ActivateItem

normally it should work NOW.

note: some mutators use "x" ingame to open the mutator-menu. if you play on another server it maybe could be this letter is overwritten and will not work anymore so you need to change it again and again.
suggesttion: use "use-key" instead... (like my example "u"...)

if it still not works...well...hmmm... did i forgot something?

tell me if it works now...
