Well I am looking into getting a new one due to the fact my nephs decided my laptop was hungry and gave the fan vent a snack of gummyworms... In end it was unhealthy for it, though they didnt know for they are 3 and 2... But cause the lcd, video card, memory and cpu to short out. The warentie doesn't cover gummy worm dmg so with that said I am in the market for a new one in less then a year of owning that one.
I am looking for something I can game on aswell as 3d animation and such. Would like to go amd for the cpu and have atleast 2 gigs of ram. Prefear widescreen. What are your guys thaughts ?
Dont want to buy an acer agin I feel my last one was poorly designed in where the ports and such were on it (headphone jack was dead center of the front so if I wanted to have a headset on and playing with it on my lap I allmost would pierce my navel on the headphone jack)

anyways look for other companys besides ACER and Dell laptops. We all heard the storys of dell's pos laptops.Acer's are ok but as stated they are a bit flimsy in some areas.Just know one thing though when you go shopping for another lappy
Avoid Dell...............
And their onion rings....

Bite your tongue, my Dell laptop's far better than that pos Compaq i had, it's not cutting edge or anything, but at least it runs fine, i mean, ok i cant run ut on it, oh well.
Avoid Compaq and HP, Dell is prolly too expensive anyways (and ever since they went with east indian phone support, a pain in the ass to deal with, truley pathetic when you know more than the tech support people, didnt use to be true, used to be some uber smart peeps in texas, alas the undereducated and inexperianced are cheaper to pay for.). Look around where you live, you may have a local shop that makes their own and has a great support policy, ask around if u find a possible, see what kind of rep they have, call your local BBB. Used to be Costco was a good spot to get one semi-affordably priced, but they changed their policies recently, no clue if they are worth the bother now.

Got it for my wife she jus surfs the web checks email so its well capable of that. It does play unreal real good actually ....but it doesnt like later waves in Joeys server for sum reason.
