Cost of living in your area ?

Post by popnstyle » Sun Jul 15, 2007 12:28 pm

Well just allwase intrested in the diferance that it can be in diffrent areas.

What do the adv 2 bdrm, 1bth 1400 sq ft homes go for in your area. Do you rent or own ? If rent what are you renting, a house, apt, etc.

So cali may have great weather, but we put up with so much bs to get to live in such weather. Cost of my rent in my apt is 2200 a month. That doesn't include any utilities, or anything else. Yet we have people that jump balconies and such and let alone shootings in the area, in the allies behind us, and let along on the street the complex is on. Yes we may have a starbucks or some other coffee place, theatres, reastruants, close to the beach, adv year round weather 70-90 degries, last time it snowed in los angeles was 87. But you pay the price for this with all the negitive things as cost of gas, rent, homes, food, and then the crimes that are abundent here.

So feel free to give thaughts on where your at, the good and the bad. If you don't like it, then reasons that hold you there.

For me its a matter of family all close and live with in 20 mins of one another. Then the weather, I have been in snow maybe 6 or 7 times in my life.

Well, California is probably one of the most expensive places in the country to live. I'm here in Georgia, where I own a 3,000 sq.ft. house in a nice subdivision and my house was only $143,000. And get this, gas is only $2.68 a gal here.

Oh...I live in a Town where Income sucks compaired to the areas in my State. I live Arizona in which income ins't that great already compaired to many states. Income to Cost of living in Arizona for working people in the USA is on of the worst because Cali people raised our prices like crazy (Mainly the people who retired and moved from Cali to AZ) and income didn't go up. But I purchased my home which is a 3 bd 2 bath on a 1/4 lot for $200 K and it now about $225. for a easy quick sell.
Later all!

so we have Beloit/South Beloit (Sux a phone call is still long distance cause it crosses state lines yeah I know its a rip)

Well rent for a 2 bdrm 1 bath apt around here usually $400-550 a month depending on if utilities are included

A 3 bedroom 1 bath Apt $650-750

My mom bought her house in Beloit Wis bout 10 yrs ago the house was built in about 1960 it is a lil old but was still nice
4 bedroom 3 bath 2 stories tall and a half finished basement $68,000 . Of course wear and tear on the house since then but if it were all up to standards on everything can be sold for anywhere from $80-100k

My wifes parents bought a house about 2 years ago in Illinois just across the border this 1 eas built in the 80's

My grandparents, when they had there house appraised two years ago, it was apraised at 850,000. There is also a guest house on the property. My uncle lives in the front house and has trashed it, in wich if to be sold would be easyer and cheaper to demolish and build a new then for the cost to fix the current house (built in the 50s), 900 sq ft, 2 bdrm 1 bathroom, no ac, no heat. The guest house is 1200 sq ft, remodled kitchen (after it was apraised) 2 bdrm 1 bathroom. Cement floors with thin carpet and no padding under it... All in all pretty ghetto to think of.

Just up the street from them there are new condos being built that are nothing fantastic, just 3 bdrm 2 bath at like 1600 sq ft starting in the low millions.

We used to rent a house that was part of a duplex, in an area that is home to a gang big enough to have a los angeles injunction aginst them. While living there, on adv there was shootings everyweek to every two weeks with in a mile of that house and was appraised at 650,000.

Then to add... You would have to work 3 full time min wage jobs here to be able to survive with out eating bread and butter every meal of the day and walking to and from work or taking the bus. With that you would have 3600 (before taxes)a month to live off of. Figuring 1200 or more for rent. Then another 200+ for water and power. Then another 60+ for Gas, 75 for trash, Car payment 350, Insurance another 200, depending on what car you drive but say 450 a month for gas, Food 400 a month, phone/cellphone another 60-120. Wich brings you to about 3k a month. So with that saying you get free health benifits from your work. No car problems, nothing other then the adv house hold exspences and you are barly cutting it to get by on 3 full time min wage jobs.
