Would You Keep The SSR On The Maps?

No, Its boring and it takes the fun out of everthing, and also the fact my hard earned levels go to waste here.

SSR maps, Gone? Fixed? or left alone....

Post by Ragnarok » Thu Jan 31, 2008 12:40 pm

Me personally, I hate SSR maps. People constantly vote for em once its back in rotation and it get tiring that people that have earned their levels get out scored by few that are just below or just about 100. So im making a poll to see what u guys think about the SSR maps.

TBH, as many a player says, SSR maps are great for the lowbies to gain some easier EXP. Granted they turn MM into a point, fire and forget exercise for 3/4 of an hour, but at the end of the day, they are just another type of map.

If you don't like them, DON'T VOTE FOR THEM. SIMPLE.

I think SSR maps are good for low levelers yes, but it's boring playing multiple ssr maps in a row. I usually don't use the ssr either way, i'd rather get a fast shooting gun with spread damage like the fireball/blast/flare etc so i can heal myself lol. I think that map with the goldable ssr is definitly cheap because lets be honest, it's not the low levelers golding super shock rifles, they don't have the gold ability yet so, That definitly should go if anything is done, because low levelers will get even less exp obviously if everyone with the gold ability has the ssr wop and they dont lol. It's a no brainer.

ssr maps can get boring, but i would have to say that ssr maps show who can really aim over who can spam...so if someone complains about some newbie that outscored them in an SSR map, they are just jealous because newbie can shoot better than them..:)...i dont think we should get rid of them tho just because some people think they are boring...there are regular maps that are boring...whats the difference?

Bravo man, couldn't have said it better myself.I mean playing a SSR map ONCE doesn't make it as boring as playing Pyramids 1 2 3 4 or 5085072 20000 times a week or hell even *gasp* training day XL.Sorry Dia but just my opinion of training day map. It's good for a small DM arena, just not really that good at all for Invasion.

"It's been fixed for Invasion ya know?" I know but doesn't make the map any better for invasion then how it's been for invasion from the get-go.

Every time the map was in rotation and we played I easily outscored everyone but drae...

STEP YA GAME UP. If you complaining about low levels outscoring you then you just suck. :]

I don't mind the ssr maps too much, gives a break from "ok heres your gun, its ammo is ejected at hypersonic speeds while staying elastic enough to bounce off walls ... oh the scouter says your level is sub 80, sorry this gun won't help you much"

"yay!" [continues to hold fire button down for the next hour or so]

sure they get boring after a long while, solution...vote carball!

edit: and i've been top at low levels on these maps, I've also seen others kick the ssr's [buttocks] with and mp5 or flak

just wish that the basic "aiming" weapons could be pumped up a bit to match the others out there

ssr maps are something different and ok now and then, but as i have stated before they simply aren't all that enjoyable to play so close to each other sequentially. not to mention as well most ssr maps are the very large ones and tend to be a bit lagged for this reason anyhow. give me a fair mp5 and i will outdo most people on such a map and keep my health high :P

the two church maps with the woppable ssr are as t-money says..not really for low levels to benefit anyways. those guns are simply the enhanced ssr that cannot vamp. ooooh, look, a slower firing red wand, weeee!

i remember having to work for my levels up to like 240 or so, before the spree experience bonuses were introduced, and nearly no super shock maps. now it seems one can reach 100 in 6-12 maps if many are super shockish and are of power pickups. as an example of what can be done...remember that party day here? i decided to join under the name drae_jr and play a little as another noob. in less than 2 maps (had to leave by wave 17 on the second) i made level 60 from enhanced ssr or wand use.

still, ok to play with now and then, but i see super shock maps get voted for the moment they are made available usually. not fun!
