Joeyz has heavily modified the Weapons of Power mod from its original state as well as optimizing much of the code. you'll find it extremely difficult to emulate the experience from this server. also sorry, but i don't believe there is a public release of any of the code for the enhanced stuff running, as far as WoP goes.
in the meantime hop in game and enjoy it right here at home

hey, i have nothing better to do than just lurk around right now...
as far as coding goes for unreal script...it really isn't that hard. It's based on C++/Java so it has a nice feel to it even if your a newbie coder, heck i find it way easier than trying to design a decent map or make a model (basic texture editing is where my creativity stops

)
the harder part is optimizing your code so it works well for net-play, but its just a step after you have the basics down...(now the optimized stuff that Joey is pulling out for the next patch...lets just say 0.o, then er..."its gonna be fun)
ohh and here [rummages around for that link]

I too have looked into mapping and codeing and I must agree that the vast majority of tutorials are insufficient. I've even gone through the info on wiki pertaining to mapping, modding etc. Unfortunately, their info follows a very specific line of information, so if you're wanting to do something that even slightly varies from what they tell you...you're just outta luck. One of the best ways to learn how to map, mod, and code is to find someone who already has experience with it...and pick their brains.
It would be nice if Epic as well as all game developers had more information about how to do these things. I think their loyal following would increase, especially if the players are also putting great time and effort into making the game more varied, fun and enjoyable.
