Just an idea

Post by EVChito » Wed Mar 04, 2009 8:20 am

You know when you get like a holy shit monster kill ect? I think you should get points for that... No not exp points achievement points.

My idea is during each map when you get certain achievements you get points to spend but not on talents on unique weapons and powerups.. With certain level requirement like when you buy the wand except its unique once you buy one you cant get another also you cant just buy all the pups like for example.. Lets say you buy the link gun assuming this is implimented you can upgrade it to a particle gun but you will still need powerups like inf..
But what about the rest of your points? you can spend them to enhance your defense to specific enemies like build yourself to resist a wand or those censored annoying ass soliders...In addition you can build your offense as well against particular enemies like with your defense..

I know spawning with the wand is badass and all but wouldnt you get board wouldnt you like to be able to choose your super weapon?

Any feedback?

Here are some other upgrades to buy with achievement points

Improved infinity - get this and it will increase your firing speed so you only have to use one infinity

Improved Damage - get this to increase damage recieve by damage powerups but reduces the number you can hold for each point spent so at max level you only have to use one damage 5

Improved rock and reedeemer shield - increase their effectiveness so you only have to use one

Retaliation - increase effectiveness till you only have to use one as well

whatcha think? ^^

I like the ideas........But, I'd like to add this one......Killing specific types of monsters to get various points and add to it like headshots for more points.

Don't we already get XP rewards for Multis? Can't remember....

Would like to see something like the weapon system in CoDWaW's "Nazi Zombies" (At least that's where I think you're refering to. Using scores from kills to buy weapons and ammo?) as well. Might be a pain to code though.

No not EXP a completely different system using a players certain achievements. Doesnt have to be kill related either like lets say kill 60+ enemies in a single wave or hit 3 enemies with a single shot something like that but yea i agree would be a bitch to code but i think it would be incredibly awesome

The killing spree mutator/mod/whatever you wish to call it, is poorly coded and has been removed from the next patch.

It causes all sorts of server side errors and is very inaccurate. It often gives points/credit for mega kills when in fact you only got a multi kill.

We do have plans on trying to recode it so it actually works, but it's low on the list.

The next stage (after fixing any left over bugs from the 180 patch) will (at least until Joey changes his mind again :D ) focus on recoding the rpg (which is poorly coded as well). This is going to take quite awhile to do, so don't expect it anytime soon.

Hito I like your idea and will make sure Joey reads this post.
If you lost your cd and have the old drive and have not reinstalled UT2004 or reformatted the drive, you can find your old cd key in the registry here ...
