Okay so for the past two days, around wave 10 or so I start getting annoying things happening in the server. I have monsters dissapearing to the point where I can't see them anymore, I have to spray and pray. This gets pretty annoying as you would guess. What is wrong with my UT? Is it a serverside problem? Help me

Im having the same problem monsters no where to be found but i can feel them hitting me.I don't know what the hell it is

it's an age old problem is this , and it goes way back when UT2k4 was GOD in the eyes of many
A lot of servers runners will blame it on your comp etc... but what they don't realise is that 90% of comps run throughout the world are AVERAGE . Now average isn't bad and can run games which can be minimised whilst you send an email cook the kids dinner and google the biggest titties ...

But these mods are extreme even back in the day they were extreme with the likes of Fraghouse lagging teh crap out of your little precious pushing your baby to its limits etc... not only are they extreme but in most cases they are tested in extreme conditions and NOT on a computer that is regarded as the user average .. Most good game companies will test your game on many different setups and then theres some that won't ..

In conclusion the problem isn't server side as such ,, as the computers that muster some power under the bonnet will wipe the piss out of the mod , it also is not a problem clientside as you , I and about 70% of the gaming world cant afford to buy anymore crappola ,,
Maybe we should all roll down to PC places (note how I did not get myself in bother with a REAL name )
and rob the censored out of em man I think that would be worth 3 yrs inside ..3 squares a day excersise oh yeah and a kickass comp that will finally run mods galore ,, the only thing wrong with that is UT will be dead long before then :-({|= enjoy it while you can cos it aint gonna be around fer long :roll:

I've had similar problems before but only as a result of extreme packet loss likely caused by electrical storms in the area, it caused the monsters and weapons fire to become invisible.

However this was extremely rare.

My machine could run mods galore if only it had more DDR memory, its lack of that which lags me out more than anything else..

I get this too, and my computer isnt that slow. Upping my netspeed helped some, but when ever I die it seems to get worse and I lose my weapons as well. but the second I go back to spectator everything is visible again untill I respawn that is.

Yes. I have a P4 2.0 ghz with 1GB ram, Geforce 6600 card. My computer does not suck. I believe it's just extreme packetloss or something internet related.

Well it happened to me same time as the largest rainfall we have had in months, my guess is because of the rain alot of ppl (me included) decided to go online pretty much at the same time, and isp's like insight that figure their needs on only 20% of the potential maximum bandwidth usage jump to %40 and their machines and internet bandwith aren't up to snuff.

nah, It's always done this to me even before this twat thing. I havn't played on too many other servers but this is the only one i get it on.

If I play from the map start usually around 10+ is when it starts happening. but if I happen to join the game later in the waves after 10 the game plays fine, I just die alot :lol:
