This might be a bit off topic, but I figure this is good enough for off-topic posts.

I'm looking for anyone that has the RocBox 256mb MP3 Player, specifically, model 14001. I'm looking for the firmware update released for this unit, but they went out of business and I cant find the file anywhere.

Please dont post rants about it..I know its a crappy little mp3 player. I just need the firmware so I can try hacking the device.

Tried searching around for it but no luck here either. I personally love iRiver players though, since they play OGG as well (which is my preferred format); I'm currently using a iRiver T30 w/1Gb flash: :D

Only reason I ask is this tiny little device (not even half the size of a deck of cards) has an arm processor it. The same processor that powers the gameboy and nintendo ds, and most other pocket media players...I'm itching to break into the firmware and do some cool hacks with it, but to do that, I need the firmware file that was distributed on the now dead website. And dammed if i can get an SDK off the co that fabricates the specific chip for this player, bunch of Korean SOB's.

But in any case, if you feel generous and have some time to spare...the specific cpu in this device is the Telechips TCC722y...google will return chinese and korean links to the company that makes this cpu but theyre not much help...just pretty corporate front-end bs.
