what he's saying is that: he thinks its a good idea to keep records of the admins actions via incident report forms. somethings like:
name of admin:
subject:
description of incedent:
People involved / witnesses:
Action taken:
Date:
reviewed by:
reviewer's notes:
date:
just more paper trails, usually to help resolve disputes after the fact and protect all parties from abuse (admins, instigators, other players)
point of the thread is that (at least since i've been lurking around here) this idea hasn't been brought up publicly on the forums and seems like a good idea.
as for the extra work, tedious at first but becomes habit after a while, though that would be for you big guns to decide

I would volunteer to look into something like that. But I'll only do so, if the powers that be want something like that
But I also think it's a good idea to keep track of....not only admins but players as well. It would definately require the setup of a database and to make entries simpler....forms to enter info on would also be helpful!

Erm you as a server admin are already supposed to be doing so in the admin forums as a post.
In the next version of the forums I will include such a form.
So far these forms are in the works...
Bug report form.
Players will have a form to fill out (which will then email itself to the code team as well as post itself as a post in the forums automatically) to describe their bug. Basic info will include day, time, map name, and wave. Then there will be a dropdown menu to select from weapons bug, critical error, and map crash. Depending on what's chosen more options will be made available.
So you as players will need to keep track of what weapon you use and what power ups you have on it.
Player harassment form. Day, time, map, player (server). Day, time, forum name (forums). This form will be emailed to all server admins and forum moderators. No post will be made.
Admin action form. This form will be used to tell the rest of the admin/mod team who, when, and why. Again a copy will be mailed to all server admins and forum mods, as well as a post being made in the admin forum and maybe the server removal forum.
Not sure how long it will take to finish the forms and the forums. Depending on some other things we may just put up a generic new forum while the rest is being worked on.

If you lost your cd and have the old drive and have not reinstalled UT2004 or reformatted the drive, you can find your old cd key in the registry here ...
