Server status 11-29-08

Post by ZombieSlayer » Sat Nov 29, 2008 11:56 pm

Just got off the phone with Joey. There's a trouble ticket at the server farm to get the server back up. However nobody has seen the night tech in awhile and they think he went home for the evening.

Hopefully tomorrow morning (around 9am central time) the server will be back up.

If not, then monday for sure because Joey will call them up first thing and raise some hell.

He apologizes for the downtime and hopes it's done with soon.

Joey will be gone from Dec 1 to Dec 20th on a training thingy with his new job. So he says that in Jan he will be able to get things back on track as far as the patch goes.

So please just hang in there a little longer and you'll see that the wait has been well worth it ;)
If you lost your cd and have the old drive and have not reinstalled UT2004 or reformatted the drive, you can find your old cd key in the registry here ...

I'm sure you guys take a somewhat similar approach except for one thing but I completely eliminated spam on my forum by 2 things.

1. I modded my forum so that trying to register with the first listed language in the forum returns "Unknown Error". This took my forum from about 25 registrations a day down to about 2 a week.

2. I made it so that registrations have to be approved by an admin. Usually in the admin control panel under management its easy to spot bot registrations.

Not really. If I linked something and talked off topic it would be spamming. Also, unless I'm the next generation spam bot, I haven't actually seen a spam bot that can not only stay on topic in an existing post but also reply to someone who acknowledged it... :-P
