the server is most likely a collocated in a large server farm or small one..... was looking at the prices of a dedicated single xeon with about 32gb being in about the 150$range, but don't really like limited bandwidth even though 2TB is not bad, I would be more interested in something like a 10TB 100Mbit pipe, though at the moment, not looking at all.... most of what I need is located where I am so no need for hosting. There are several types of colocations... biggest users are full rack or more with unlimited 10Gbit - 100Gbit pipes, but cost would be huge, like 20K a month, down to small single proc servers with 1TB of bandwidth, usually not managed... dedicated are rented server boxes as needed, pretty much chose what you want, and go....
