umm yeah...I tried reading your post nard but i really, just really couldn't get through the attitude in the first few sentences.


ohh yes I Loved that book. Had to have it for a history class back in high school and went through the whole thing before the semester even started. The money is worth it.

edit: after trudging through that i hope that was satire or something of the like...and if it was i feel pretty thick for not having got that until now...

hmm...
i just wonder... my english isnt really the best, but i do understand nard, i know what he mean, and, sure, i am german, and believe it or not, but i have to agree with him (one time :-) )! reason is just simple, "we", and many other countries have the same problem. most still dont know it because inner politic problems are 99% not in the news of foreign countries.
for example most of our schools are christian-based. now one of our laws say:
every child has to go to school! no matter what religion, it needs to go to (normally the) nearest available school. now if someone from a "non-god-religion" (and i mean "god", name based on the good old "holy bible") needs to go into a christian school and has to look 8h a day to crucifixes, crosses, "nailed jesus", maria/madonna-pictures, it could be they are offended. but i think, immigrants, visitors/"guests" or w/e you want call them, should accept "our" <rules> and <laws> first before they start
to go to best available lawyers and starting lawsuits/trials against the complete national schoolsystem,like it happend here in germany.. and they won. they come into our country and screwed some of our fundamental laws... looks like this happend in many "christian-based" countries..even with the muslim-churches, here the same, the built many of them illegal, and after buildings was ready and "we" recogniced for what they are used now and started lawsuits against them, we lost, and they won again because their main-argue was somthing like "if you forbid this you show you are a racist and/or nazi and it shows you dont accept your own fundamental law about "everyone can belief in whatever religion is best for him to belief in" (or somthing like that, dont know how to translate that correct...)
and not one single judge, not the best, not the badest, not one in lowest or highest judge-position, wanted to be called a racist and/or nazi so they had to look "in their books" and find "holes in the laws" to override/bypass them and give them right...

the result? now all crosses, cruzifixes, pictuers, whatever "godlike-lookin" needed to be removed from classrooms/schools in which are childs/teachers from other religions.
now we have female muslim teachers in christian schools teaching mathematics and other stuff, and they are allowed wearing alltime their black dresses and scarfs. who says this isnt offending the christians? but thats an alltime german problem... say something against politics or religion, doesnt matter if you are right or wrong, we are racists and/or nazies... the pity thing is, in other countries its the same, the difference
is they have "normal" [nicer lookin] <other names> for nazies or racists which are not based on, lets say german+WWII...

We are superior to 90% to all countries in the world. Technically, we are the last super power left in the world. Except, that we are the laughing stock and poorly respected country as well to other countries. The way i see it, sense Russia and China look down at us, they could kick our asses in a heart beat along with Iran, but thats a different story.

Also, I'm talking about he Christian God. It doesnt matter if your baptist, protestant, whatever. To me, those are just different beliefs about god and jesus christ.

I agree with you too! (but this isnt the first time) I would have to say that if I were a judge, I would not let this go by at all. I know that some people in thie world would stick up for me and have my back and try to stop this nonsense.
I like to call these people a certain type of modern day hippie. Obviously there not tree huggers, but there standing up for foreign people who are coming into our country. We are not getting into their buisness by keeping the religon the way it is. There getting into OUR religon by changing it and changing our and other peoples beliefs. See the reason Juddaism is allowed because it is similar (in a few ways) to Christianity. The problem with Islam, is that there are extreme things that they believe in. Like that whole "when you die 100 virigin bullshit" i mean cmon. There jihadists and that scares us. Especially at a time like this when were at war. But of course, not all muslims are like that, its just that 75% of all Americans are stereotypes.

But for those corrupted politicians aren't really helping much about that situation at all.To them letting illegal immigrants "slide" in means one thing to them and smaller business owners desperate enough to hire them,More Money.Hell in southern parts of NJ,Brazilians are buying stores uptown left and right.I mean shit,I can name 3 places in riverside,nj right now that I go to on a weekend basis,all owned by 1 Brazilian immigrant.Oddly enough,he's not legal,but he's cool AND on top of all things,speaks English fluently.

Hmm, well this topic went well, completely off topic. Now my opinion on this matter is basically the same as Nards. For example, many if not all of you have played at a different server before this one. If you notice each server has its own rules and when you go to a new server you have to obey its rules out of respect and if you want to keep playing there. The old "well my old server said its okay to do this so these are the rules I follow" doesnt fly. My response to that would be well your not in that server anymore and now in this one. So if you want to continue playing here without any problems learn the rules and abide by them and we wont have to have this conversation again. This is the same with going to a different country. If you go to cuba you can sell Cuban cigars. If you move from Cuba to America you cant sell those and if you do your going to jail. Thats how it should be like just with everything else. My opinion is all based on respect of course. You wouldnt walk into someones house without knocking and start using their stuff. Down in the Southern US you would get yourself shot. So I am okay with the US's (I would refer to this as our nation but not everyone reading is from the US) open to immigration policy, however I would require everyone learn rules and follow them. And not try to change the US's customs to make the immigrants feel more at home (the whole point for people to immigrate to the US is to leave their country, not bring it with them...). So basically I would treat immigrants like I treat you guys, follow the rules or your gonna leave. Notice how when you guys tried to get word censors removed from the forum cause you werent happy and I didnt do it? Well thats because it was an established rule and wasnt going to be changed because you guys didnt like it. Like I said, if you dont like having your words then stop using words that need to be , there problem solved.

Define superior and give some examples, if you can.

Maybe we could ask some people from the gulf coast affected by Katrina about how superior you are when Canadian mounties came to the aid of the people before any real American assistance, and how America turned down a plane full of doctors, nurses, supplies, and aid from Cuba, and then took weeks to provide care.

You describe Islam as a problem, this is wrong, Islam teaches many positive wonderful things, just like the bible and scriptures do. The problem with ALL religions is individuals interpretation of it. Extremists exist in both religions preaching hatred and citing the bible or koran as a justification to their actions. There are more fundamentalists in America than any other country. The Bible belt is full ignorant bigots who use the bible as an excuse to preach hatred.

Some of you need to recognize that America is a nation of Immigrants. With the exception of Native Americans you are ALL descendants of immigrants. Whether your descendants arrived with Columbus or one of the thousands of ships that followed. Paint, when your descendants arrived did they follow the rules? Whose rules?

I honestly don't want to debate this here as this is a place where I play and relax from work. But I am involved in teaching cultural diversity in a University, and I hear the same crap from ignorant students everyday.
I hear the same arguments from friends in England, France, Germany, and Australia. It is short sighted to look at immigration this way.
Statistically, due to the current rate that the white population of America is slowing down and the Latino population is growing, there will be a Native Spanish speaking President of America in your life time.
Immigration is a good thing, when its done well.
Diversity is what made America a nation strong and a respected nation. It is why people wanted to come to America, the melting pot. with possibilities for everyone, work hard and succeed the American dream.
It makes me sad that people will not consider the alternative viewpoint in situations like this.
