well, i do know that often these are just stuff said to mess around randomly or just a quick blurt that means nothing. i know there are latino jokes and such merc and ortega have had from fellow buddies that they take lightly and even joke with. but i have actually seen times that such comments used in true verbal attack that does goes back and forth for a short time..this is what i meant that is upsetting to see. i mean..i dunno..i wonder how like angeldust or the other black players here might feel seeing the N-word tossed around in times of true discontent when they are playing. really though, it is rare and not a very strong concern like some other intercommunicative issues here need attention to, but i wished to mention sometimes its just not a nice thing to see in particular circumstances.

A quick note of thanks to those who expressed support to my concern over bigotry on the server. You know who you are.

I stopped playing UT about a year ago because my wife was expecting our first child and I didnt think I would have any more free time to play. The only monsters I have been fighting are the ones I found in my son's diapers.

He is 11 months old now, He was born in America, though my wife and I are British, She is black, I am white. As I mentioned in a previous rant we work in a southern university where racism is a historical problem, Mixed race couples are rare here, and we have been directly affected by both black and white bigots. I guess this is the reason I get so uptight when I hear crap on this server, as killing monsters has become an escape from the stresses of working here.

Although my post did generate some interest from players and admins, nothing has yet to be said by the man who can - joeyz
I appreciate joeyz neutral stance on in house fighting between players and admins, but feel that neutrality with this subject is at the detriment to his server.

While playing online tonight, yet again the N-word was used by player T-Money and received no response from admin AXE. When I asked T-money to refrain from using it he said I was a fag**t and said he would rape some ni**ers. AXE did nothing but made a joke with T-money, I didn’t get chance to get screen shots of the entire chat but managed one that shows T-Moneys original statement.

For those who feel that I am taking things to seriously, I suggest you reconsider your stance on a social problem that is perpetuated by the blasé rhetoric you spout.

I have Zero Tolerance for this crap. I have mailed Joeyz my concerns and await his response. Maybe the admins could examine the entire chat log and discuss and post something.

T-money is so lucky I wasnt there. His ass would have been out of the game so fast his pc would barely get the time to process it. I don't care how frustrated someone is. USING RACIST LANGUAGE OF ANY KIND REFERRING TO ANY RACE IS INEXCUSABLE AND CAN NOT AND WILL NOT BET TOLERATED. I'm sorry fu that no one there was RESPONSIBLE and took the RESPONSIBLE action. Now I am not starting a fight with anyone. This is just my view on what shouldn't be tolerated.

If case people failed to notice, this is an RPG server. Do you even KNOW what RPG means? If you don't, let me translate - ROLE PLAYING GAME.

Now, while I know this refers directly to the XP/Sta/Skill point system, it also infers a roleplaying environment, which is where you take on a role of a character. You know, like in a play? Or a movie? Or a TV show? That's a CHARACTER, NOT who you really are as a person.

Have you ever actually played a roleplaying game? Have you ever played a thief who would stab someone in the back for the contents of their wallet/purse? Have you ever played a fighter who would punch you in the face if you spilled a drink on him? If so, would you ever do these things in REAL LIFE? I doubt it.

My point being - THIS IS A GAME. TREAT IT AS SUCH. DON'T TAKE IT TO HEART. If people aren't acting within the boundaries you expect them to, you can always GO TO ANOTHER SERVER of better yet, TURN THE GAME OFF, beause you're obviously confusing fantasy with reality, and have some serious mental issues you need to have addressed by a professional.

Since I have been playing on this server since its conception then yes, I am aware of the idea of role playing. As for me confusing fantasy will reality, well I don’t think I will be running for professional counseling just yet.

So under your under your premise that players take on a character do I assume that those who use bigoted commentary have taken on the characters of ignorant halfwits, or white supremacists, or homophobic morons. Well once again I have to disagree, the comments made by players are not characterizations of some alter ego, they are the shameful displays of either ignorance or hate.

Words can hurt regardless of the environment they are uttered, I am simply requesting that players and admins refuse to accept behavior that can offend other players and admins. Is a little consideration while playing too that much to ask?
