IdEa {SHEILDGUN}

sooooo i was thinking mabye a shield like it can deflect wands and rocks right right and when you hit monsters with your shield you it does minamal damage but it sends them FLYING LIKE 50 knockbacks or somthing

dude, the sheild gun (as is) is supposed to be a peice of shit... why would we want to change our beloved puny ass sheild gun into something of VALUE?? w/o a shock cannon blow urself into lots of tiny peices PU of course..

actually it might not be all that bad of an idea
with just a reflection type pu the shield part would become usable again o.0
and to kill monsters you would still need another gun
would be interesting to see what it would be like to have to juggle between shield and [insert favorite wep here]

i dont think its that great of an idea just seems like it would be time wasted when they could make up a whole new gun thats better or where ever they get them from cause the knockback thing this ok but it wouldnt help to kill monsters since u would have to run around half the map to try to hit them twice plus by the time u switch to the shield gun to block wand attack uv already died and lost ur weapon of power that was completly stocked fully

hmm, I think coke has a great point. The shield gun is sort of useless. Giving it new features would bring back life to the shield gun. It just need to make sure that it doesnt make a player invulerable such as god like.

Anymore feedback on the shield gun PU?

i do recall talk of a new shield gun pu before. i think one that may work would be one that makes use of the alt fire, creating a shield that gives one the quivalent of what a +10 damage pu would as well as having a 50% instagib protection like that new pu to eb relased...but...there would be this link beam or maybe a conical shaped radiation effect that comes out that damages enemies one rams into into it with the gun's effect range, but its distance would be short, like perhaps 2 body lengths worth. so one would be very defended like a shield gun logically would, but it has a short range and thus, enemy fire from monsters farther away would still have effect. i would think a push effect might be bad, since running into allies without sturdy on would not be pleasant for them near pits and such :P

speaking of sturdy stuff, the iron shoes skill when i tried it a couple months back seems limited since ally fire still pushes someone badly. its a shame that of the four levels, level 2 couldn't be like having a regular sturdy on, while level 4 is like having iron sturdy. i'd invest in this skill of it was so.

Well, the Impact hammer from back in the day was said to be able to smack projectiles back to sender, Hard to see how you could implement it with the shield's secondary...

btw, didnt paint work on a new powerfull shieldgun? (long time ago) cant remember if he finished it or if the actual shieldgun is his.

what about a shieldgun-pu which makes a shield-wall, like the shield-sentinel or one of the ons-cars?

suggestion for it: available for lowlevlers till 100.
example: last waves, small corridor, many monsters, the "highlevlers" who mostly have good powerfull weps should fire, and the lowlever should use his shieldgun-wall to save them who are behind that.
to make it more palatable the one who use it should earn exps. for evry kind of monsters weaponfire, which doesnt "arrive" a human cause of that
shieldwall. but it should have a max. available shield lets say 15-30 seconds (which can be a looong time) and then it needs to reload lets say 10 seconds till you can "fire" it again. maybe we can keep some "cowards" away from hiding and doing nothing in last waves because of their thinking: "im low-level, what can i do in last waves, its senseless with no power" and doing a good job in helping keeping others allive!
so both, high and lowlevler in "defending situations", like in shrine under stairs, or in that extended training day with that long deemer-corridor need each other to stay allive, i mean, knowing the shield is up as long the lowlevler is allive maybe makes highlevlers more lookin for them keeping them allive and shooting the monsters which are going to kill the low-levler.

btw, i often recognice players who look at players with low health and DO NOTHING, like looking when he is dieing, for getting all his pus then!
sux! heal them if possible, looks like many forgot if a healing is in a wop you can heal others too, dammit.

You mean my SuperShieldgun? That thing was so easy to make

1.) Decompile

2.) Edit min and max force default property

3.) Recompile.
