Hello Everyone,

Today I came under fire with the usual players about putting monsters in MONSTER carball. Monster carball was made for admins to put monsters in carball. Monsters have to be added by an admin and in order for monsters to be spawned the admin who is spawning the monsters has to be spectating because monsters cannot be spawned while playing. If anyone has a problem with monster carball then I am sorry, maybe instead of whining you should suck it up and just play and read my next sentence about compromising. Now I am willing to make a compromise for monster carball. What I will do is when we originally vote for our first map of monster carball I will put in monsters, then assuming that no one whines the next game will be normal carball, and then monster carball, and then normal carball...ect. This way those of you that want monster carball get to play it, and those of you that want normal carball get to play it. Monster carball was added because this is an invasion server and since carball is the 2nd most played game after invasion joey thought it would be cool to have monsters in carball also. Like I said above, if you dont like it dont bitch whine and complain about it. Also I would like to add I will not be taking verbal abuse from players anymore and neither should the other admins. If you go to another server and swear at an admin your ass is out of the game almost guaranteed.

i have no problem with and actually find it fun to have monsters in carball :}

i would, though, wonder how wise it might be to have laser rifle or wand enemies appear that will probably kill one off instantly with little chance to avoid their perfect aims in a non-agile vehicle, but otherwise, i think it is fun ^,,^

as for some admin things...i do think forcing 4 hungry sniper hunts in a row was a bit much :P i was fine playing 2, but i mean, at least force another game type other than that one. that gameplay kind of sucks with how firing is handled when movine or standing still, and no idea how so many of you get one-hit kill headshots so easily while i putter away on someone's non-head portions D:

so feel free to force like, ctf, dm, last man standing, assualt, just mix them up, ayah?

i like monsters in car ball but i don't know how to do those high flips so anyone know can you tell me.

Monsters in carball make carball impossible due to the strength of said monsters. Therefore it's very annoying and ruins the game.

I won't be adding monsters into carball when I'm on for that reason.

If the monsters were as weak (or even slightly weaker because they can have the #s advantage) as the players in cb...it'd be more fun.

I do agree with the verbal and text abuse though. I won't tolerate any myself.
If you lost your cd and have the old drive and have not reinstalled UT2004 or reformatted the drive, you can find your old cd key in the registry here ...

I tend to agree about monster carball kinda sucking, i played it once......it definately was more of a dieing repeatedly fest tan a game of carball.

Personally i think forcing any map outside of a crash to the default shouldnt be allowed. If we wanted to play what the admin wants to play, we would vote it. Same idea for monster Carball, if a majority dotn want monsters, then there shouldnt be monsters, its a majority vote for normal carball, even if 1 or 2 want to. I dont know how bad it got when you were playing, and please correct me if my thinking is flawed.

Here's an idea for another compromise, Paint...

How about you only add the monsters when the players ASK you to do so, instead of automatically doing it by default without anyone asking you to? From what happened lat night, I think it should be painfully OBVIOUS to you that the majority of the CB players *DO NOT* want monsters. So, if that's usually the case, why would you ruin the game right off the bat, when nobody wanted the monsters there in the first place? I think the compromise should rest first with what the players want to play, not what the admin wants to see played regardless of what the players want - ESPECIALLY when the admin - QUOTE PAINTBALL "can't play and spawn monsters at the same time". If you're the only one who wants them, and can't even play with them, sorry, but that seems both selfish and childish to me when you spawn them anyhow.

We've heard you're whole "But it's called MONSTER carball for a reason!" argument, and that doesn't hold a grain of salt with me. Since this server made the switch to the new variety server, there have NEVER been monsters IN "Monster Carball". Which is why we vote for it. A name is just that - a name - regardless of how the game is played. Again, when you start adding mobs, without the request of any players - you change that game to something that was NOT voted for, which, as you saw, cheeses people off. If people had asked for it, then that would obviously be a different story, but that's not the case here.

Next time try having some consideration for the players that voted for the game, rather than for your own selfish ends.

Have to agree with Beastie on this one, paint. The idea of having monsters in CB might be fun for the first few times, but it would make the game impossible.

Unless you hack CB and swap the cb cars into Scorpions so we have at least a way to fight back without the need to find the rockets d=)

First off - don't get me wrong - I'm not entirely opposed to the idea myself. I for one think that it might be fun, and would be willing to give it a chance - PROVIDED that is what the majority of players WANT to do, not based simply on the whim of the admin.

As far as killing the mobs, you can do so with any of the weapons - goop, minelayer, heck, with the turbo booster you can run them down. You can even hop up and land on top of them to crush/kill them.

Finally, Paint, I also must say that I think it's kind of a cop-out on your part to type all of what you have to say in admind-speak - that is, those white text messages that pop briefly into the middle of our screen - because that was we can't take screenshots of what you say in the chat log, because it's not IN the chat log when you do it like that. What's the matter - afraid of what Joeyz might say if he saw what you were saying?

No, that it is not it at all. The big white letters are to grab the attention of the players that I want to read the message I have so I know that they definitely saw it. And no im not afraid of what joey might say if he saw me defending an idea that he put on the server. So, beast, is accusing Paintball hour over now?

Now to the compromise.

Since this is such a big issue even though I dont have to at all, I will make a compromise...again. I will ask the beginning of each carball match if anyone wants monsters. If more than half the players say yes then I will add monsters. There thats the NEW compromise, so any other ones are now invalid and void.
