Nevertheless, I agree that you should consider showing some common courtesy in ASKING the players FIRST if they want mobs, rather than thinking it's the best idea for everyone without even BOTHERING to ask. That's the only reason people started cussing you in the first place was for screwing with the game they wanted to play and instead turning it into something they DIDN'T want to play. Then when they start calling you out and telling you this - admittedly, some in not-so-nice ways - you call it abuse. When IMHO it's you who started by abusing the players by using your admin abilities to turn the game into something NOBODY voted for or seemed to want at the time.
However, I will not disagree with your so-called "compromise". I've said it before and I'll say it again - if the MAJORITY of the players want something, they should get it - be it an INV, CB, or other. I may not necessarily agree with a majority, but hey, that's life, and I suck it up and play the game. So, if the MAJORITY of the players WANT monsters in Carball, then by all means THEN you SHOULD spawn mobs. But doing so first and THEN asking AFTER you've already done it and AFTER the MAJORITY of players have "abused" you for doing it - that's admin abuse in its own right, and just rude/wrong.
Take this hypothetical situation:
You dad and his buddies are watching the Jets game on television. All of a sudden you get the idea in your head that they'd prefer to watch the Giants game instead. Would you then grab the remote and change the channel to the Giants game simply because you THOUGHT they'd prefer to watch the Giants game instead? Or would you ask them first? And, if you changed it without asking first, would you be surprised if they yelled at you for it, and then would you call them abusive because they did yell?
Because, believe it or not, that's the exact same stunt you've pulled here.
It all boils down to matter of respect. You should try it sometime. You might be surprised at the reaction you get, as you're apparently not familiar with the concept.
