Unreal Tournament 3 Demo 'Coming Friday' [ 2 Comments ]
Wednesday, 10 October, 2007 at 11:46 PST | RaptoR | Print News
Voodoo Extreme's Robert "Apache" Howarth returns from the Epic press event with news that the UT3 beta demo is currently targeted for a Friday release.

They were putting the finishing touches on it last night; didn't want to release it the same day as the Call of Duty 4 demo (Thursday), so Friday appears to be the big day for the UT3 demo.

This fits with what we've heard on the grapevine too, so it looks very likely that we'll be playing UT3 in around 48 hours!

Keep watching PU for redef's hands-on UT3 preview from the same press event. :partyman:

I think it's just a rumor, don't get your hopes up.

Already it is known there is not gonna be a warfare map on the demo, just 2 DM (one with vehicle one regular),One CTF,and one VCTF map(s).Wish they would include a warfare map but wouldn't matter I'm gettin the game and some newer hardware anyways (along with some other games, and a cookie to paste on to my speekers to make them look funny)

well, just played the demo, and i must say: i am impressed. the visuals are absolutely stunning, i was playing TES IV: Oblivion while waiting for the download, and UT3 was still an eye opening experience.
the 'weight' was a bit more like the old school ut,took a bit to get used to but it works, as was the feel of the guns(which very very detailed and amazing to look at)
played around with a bot on lowest setting just to get a feel for the weps so i didn't get that great of a glimpse of the ai. can't wait untill the official release so i can muck around with all the vid settings. happy frag fest all
so this is nothing that you haven't heard before, but yeah...its there and its good

Just finished playing the demo for the second time (offline seince I can't find any "quality" servers atm) and I gotta say epic's really doing something right this time around.Yea there's no invasion for it....yet,but there will be even if I,someone who has no idea how UScript works, have to do it lol .But anyways, the vehicles actually work like how their SUPPOSED to work now.So me happy :D .So my verdict,I'm sold 5x over with a cheese grater in hand
