Sup all,

I have been playing the demo for a while now, and I have to admit I'm bored. It does look nice (although call of duty 4 demo looks better), I guess I will have to wait for the full version to try out the other gametypes, but for right now I'm going to uninstall and play something else. I need some damn wops and stats to mess with.

I don't believe that there will be any fee over time, the login system is most likely for stat tracking and such like bf2

There will be No Fee to play online. The online login is used as a way to track stats and do rankings (a poor attempt made on the UT2004 stats tracker.)

Might be a poor system, but it works better than having to input it every time you want to play online. Besides, from what I remember, Stat tracking was optional. Might be due to a master server or something.

It wont be pay to play, its because it is a beta and it is their way of keeping track of how many people are playing, and how long.

As for the graphics being overdone, you can ini tweak to remove most things such as bloom, fog, and motion blur.

I completely agree with you joey!! Even for the menu the graphics are way too busy!! It's like a Flash nightmare that you can't wake up from!I even posted that on the UT3 forum, saying that it looks like the whole game was geared more towards the PS3 and Xbox players than the PC players. The PC players are the ones who have made the game such a success. Betray those people...and it won't be pretty :roll:

I absolutely don't care for the GUI at all!! The menu and setting options completely suck a butt!! Also, I'm not really liking the weapons either. They seem to be a tad more boring and scaled back. But, I guess when your graphics have to be over the top..you gotta scale back somewhere :roll: I did like the revamped vehicles, the Raptor seems to have more control to it, and I do like the fact that you can drive and shoot at the same time in the Hellbender. I really dig the Necris Darkwalker...although like the players weapons....it's weapons could use a little more drama!

I did have to try and keep in mind that it's just the demo. Although the UT2003 and UT2004 demos didn't seem to have the troubles that this one does. So, I guess we'll have to wait for the full release to find out for sure...and then wait for the patches to start rolling in..LOL!

I also agree with the "Pay to Play" thing. I've done that through MMORPG's and it's a waste of money, and I'll never do it again! If they do run on that system, they'll be disappointed in their returns for sure. There is absolutely no reason to charge people to play unless they offer services for the players. I pay for my own server and services...Epic and UT don't pay for any of my stuff. Currently, I don't pay..and they don't offer services to me....and I haven't had any problems with that at all.

to be honest it hasn't in M>O> filled up the hype and I even built a machine to play it. The main reason I did it was for the game and after I finished my computer and seeing the news about UT3 wants this and isn't doing this. It's the last thing I want to try and also BUY!.

Well today I tested UT3 demo, omg what a disappointment.
Still early to make final conclusion. I will explain more later after the offical ut3 is out.
In the demo, UT3 felt like an old version and UT2k4 feels newer.
First off, the GUI for the game sux. No more tabs, servers etc.
Way to busy in graphics. When you play the game it feels like a forest.
UT3 appears to be overloaded.
There won't many people switching to UT3.
UT3 won't be game of the year.

New <- does not always mean better.
Sometimes, keeping things simple is better than new.
If this is UT3 than UT2k4 is UT4, because it sure feels like we went 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

So far, if you are a map developer then UT3 is probably for you.
If your a player then you will probably be disappointed.

What now? Don't worry, we are going to give Invasion UT2k4 a complete over haul to make it better than any other (including ut3). Yes, we can incoporate some of the stuff from UT3 into UT2k4. We will just have to re-create the meshes, textures, etc. We like the new UT3 redeemer, hoverboard and the walker. The rest is not that exciting nor worth to spend big money upgrading your pc.

Again, this is based on the UT3 Demo version I tested. Wont finalize anything until I get the actual full game.

Note: something else I noticed, the UT3 Demo had a Login and password to play online. Not sure if players will have to pay, but it sure appears that way. If this is true, they will lose even more players for UT3.

AS IN THE OTHER TOPIC POST... WHAT JOEY SAID!!!! I didn't like it much at all. I like UT2K4 better. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK JOEY(guess u know what i voter for in the poll LOL!!!!!) AND ALSO AGAIN, WE AINT ALL RICH MR.4K for a system cause im a noob LOL!! Nah but seriously, i cant afford pretty graphics. I live a life of hazy pictures and stuttering videos.*sighs*
