Meh, I don't really have the funds to upgrade my computer, so...

but one thing I think Joey could do is take ideas from ut3 and make a copy back on this instead but with less graphics (I'm more than willing to sacrifice a bit of graphics for a bit of better gameplay... I have seen some games with good to decent graphics which have sucked at gameplay, while lesser games with horrid graphics had better storyline or gameplay or both.) I love my Super Nintedo and a lot of the games that I have for it :), I find some better than playstation and playstation 2 games :P.

Lol, I just went to the topic under this one (to me this topic was above and I tend to read up to down) and just read part of Joey's new topic... heh this will be fun when server is better as it is now on ut2004 than any server is on ut3 :P

I love ya guys. Everyone has great opinions on both UT3 and UT2K4. I guess from a coders view, im just a little disappointed. Minly the Graphical User Interface (GUI) throughout the game. Not user friendly.

Anyways, as you may know, UT3 will not have invasion. It would not be hard for me to create but I don't know if I will jump into right away. We will see, after awhile I may get use to the way UT3 is layed out.

Because of the demo, havent decided to run ut3 dedicated server yet. Will wait until the real version comes out and analyze it.

If we don't like UT3 as much, then I will tell you what. I will REDO the whole RPG and Monster system in UT2k4. I have a server with 4 CPUs, I can mod another server with WOP RPG ONS and CTF. It would be easy for me to divide RPG databases like...

If (Gametype... huma huma, then use game type associated RPG database...

RPG_ONS.INI
RPG_INV.INI
RPG_CTF.INI
RPG_AS.INI

...too easy!

Imagine all the stuff we have here being used in those game types. Even squad summon (like monster summon). To where you can spawn a squad on soldiers with sniper rifles, Grenade Launchers, RL, etc. If you kill a player, he/she drops powerups and drops all the goodies he had in inventory. It would be nuts.

These are the things Ut3 should have done, improve the game types with new stuff. Reskinning the same weapons and vehicles just isnt enough and the games are the same. Hover board and Walker was cool but we need more. I havent checked out the ranking system yet in UT3. If its like UT2k4 Ranking system than its a waste of programming becuase it doesnt reflect honors during game play. What made BATTLE FIELD 2 so popular is the players show there ranking in game. Also you earn awards and badges.

God I wish didnt deny me working for them because I didnt want to move away from Fort Hood. I could have done so much crazy fun stuff to expand game play for every game type.

In the meantime, working on patching this UT2k4 server with lots of new stuff. Oh by the way, I think you guys are going to like the new sentinels. Vaptor almost has all bugs worked out. It will be a summoned weapon, monster drop, and inside the weapons chest. This is just an idea, we can see how people like it.

As I said earlier, the server has 4 CPUs. 2 of them will keep reserve for UT3. I am only using one for Invasion and other for BattleField 2.

I was thinking of moding up BF2 with monsters, powerups, etc... just like UT Invasion, lol It would be the first "Battle Field 2 Invasion" server in the world lol. For you BF2 players, can you imagine a QUEEN standing next to your outpost and it took 20 frag grenades to kill it? ROFL! Commander, "WE LOST CONTROL OF AN OUTPOST!" How about a TITAN on top of a building throwing rocks? LMAO How about WOP Weapons and pu???? How about spawning a bunker using the bunker artifact? hehehehe

Could also make that when you kill players, they drop pu and wops, lol

i think its really unfair to compare ut2k4 which has been out for 4 years of mods and a game that hasnt been resealed yet.

if u want something to compare then compare the demo beta of ut2k4 to the demo beta of ut3

go back and play the demo of ut2k4 and tell me there is no difference between that and what ur playing now

lets not start judging the game until its actual released with some mods.

Did anyone else come up with (1628 setup error)?
I reinstalled xp pro 32 and 64 same as I did with vista.
Four operating systems.
And the game runs very fast in xp pro x32 and I liked some of the weapons
but was not really very impressed.
Am wondering if there is a problem running with x64 operating systems?
I will not buy it right away. sad sad sad
I Will try other operating systems later to check.

Might get the 360 version to see what the fuss is about, otherwise I'll be re-installing 2k4.

I'm runing on Vista x64 ultimate, so no problems here. Game run very good.

yes, I got this error during the installation process. There are a couple of workarounds posted on some forums, you just have to search for them. I am running x64 and by using the couple of workarounds noted I got it to install & run w/o any further problems - you just need to research it a little.

The thing that pissed me off was how they took the shock rifle and made it almost impossible to do moving combos. I also hate how the game is more spam based than skill based. Ut2k4 is far superior.
