2. because 95% of all players are here to play for fun, not to act like an uberpro who allways needs 20.000 points per match but leaving (whining
with a bad excuse) the game when loosing a wep cause of bug and not beeing able to show enough skills (courage?) to rejoin and trying with noobweapons to HELP finish the map, its NOT needed to allways finish "only you allone" the map....
We all play for different reasons amy, Drae just happens to be motivated to play with an extreme/amazing sense of efficiency. Drae has as much fun as anyone, but his version of fun focuses on efficiency/perfectionism during gameplay (this is something you can't seem to comprehend... we all have different definitions of "fun") Drae is ludicrously detail oriented, single minded( as a positive trait), and a perfectionist/obsessive through and through. If you think about it, it's incidental that he scores as high as he does(it's not the sole reason he plays), but the high score is a guideline that he uses to guage his "fun: effiency, perfectionsim, skill". I'm sure the game gives him a awesome sense of satisfaction to those needs and his passion.
I've never seen drae whine or be overly prideful in how he plays. I've outscored him numerous times and when I do he doesn't leave before the game ends. He doesn't whine, he's humble about it. Amy, you seem to confuse whining with a simple statements.. especially with me...!!! Whine:to snivel or complain in a peevish, self-pitying way.
Sometimes we make mistakes and we happen to write them!! there's no intent for us to make complaints, or ask for self pity... it's all light hearted....breathe... relax amy . Anyway, to be honest, I can't think of anything I could type that won't sound like "whining" to you amy... (take screenshots of him making excuses, or me for that matter, I'd love to see them!!!) Seriously, amy, there are way more people on the server that gloat a lot but you don't saything about them!!!
staying after glitches/wep loss: First of all, I've seen him lose his weps many times and he still sticks around to play.
When he does leave (or anyone else) it's understandable, sometimes when we're playing a game it's just devasting/depressing to start over because of some gltich, epspecially if you're playing a game in a competive level. But the thing is...almost everyone does it yet you single out drae... nice...
You should also realize that if drae or any high level sticks around waves 17-20 without a weapon he's most likely a hinderance to the whole team and the best thing for the team is for him to leave!!
Someitmes I'll be playing as Red or Orange and suddenly the game gets hard... That's when I notice hicky or merc have joined...
That's why you'll never see me join the server as a high level player after wave 17...( exception to ssr maps).
I would personally love to join after wave 17 If I didn't think it would make things harder!( as a high level player). At the same time it would be futile to fight lucifers/wands/ lasers without a wop on wave 18.
There's a difference between the acknowledgement of futility and courage.

Sentinels can potnetially add another element of strategy.. but at this point they require too much maintence.. I'm not against them though( maybe just for the lag issues)
Amy you're always talking about clans.(you've told me that a lot).. ok find a clan with "pro players" that have a server just like joey's and maybe we'll talk... I've played on many invasion servers, dm, ONS(I love ons) some with pretty skilled and passionate players but no server is like joeys so.. ya. You seem to think that any instagib or dm "clan" server could replace joey's invasion server.
You should also know that I've played with very good DM/ONS palyers who aren't very good at invasion... you know why?....They're different.. they're all fun in DIFFERENT ways, they require different skills.
The fact is joey's server has some of the best invasion players and his server is simply awesome. it's win/win.

Well "skills" is kinda tricky to describe, but you're right, in short it's not skills alone that determine an invasion player's effectiveness. There's luck, aggression, passion for chaos, A.I. predictions, a few other things that don't lend themselves well to Death Match, ONS, assault and such but works well in Invasion. Also perfectionism doesn't mean you'll be good at anything/ everything, it's really where you channel that perfectionism..
On ONS particularly, I do poorly because I don't strategize/ play conservatively enough, and that combined with my average "skills" leaves me with low scores(well I'm not that bad at it... I do alright.. I am addicted to it after all...). However Joey's server in particular draws me in, I'm simply fascinated by the variables it takes to survive, thrive... the thought processes, and frankly it fulfills some deep need in me that leaves me ... quite ecstatic, but that doesn't mean I'm that "skilled" at all, it''s some form of specific passion.
But you can't deny that different Game types need different modes of thinking which not everyone is willing, or cares to do, at least in conscious level(i'm not talking about "Skill")
At the end of the day I admire players who are good at everything, it's just awesome to see someone who's amazing in DM,ONS, CTF, INV, ...(admiration in the sense of respect for skill/talent, not necessarily personality... that's another admirable quality though)
hmm airman kinda fits the bill here, that guy's awesome, I had a chance to see him play a few different modes, too bad he doesn't play much.
