Keep getting sudden burts of MASSIVE high ping any ideas?
I've never had this problem in the past, I was playing with an ak47 max rage max damage still couldnt hit anything cause my ping was 200-700 non stop. It doesnt happen at any other server and it didn't start until this week. I honestly think I am being hacked or have a virus or something, not sure but I am going to right now run my anti virus
. For sure all of the nukes today made it worse, but on a map that never lags (legoland) without everyone having nukes, I had no clue. I had 2inf on my gun and 1 in my inventory and went to reload it to fit more rages on, and then I only had 1 inf still
. Definitly lag related. Oh well, I am getting bored with the server already. I wish we played deathball and carball more like we used to, invasion after 5 hours gets boring.

meh, you are just on at the wrong times. granted im out til late february, but if you ever catch me, general and drae at the same time, its usually a decent game of carball. Lego land....since when is it not laggy? If the server is even half full, that one tends to start struggling before wave 12.

Well I've only played it twice sincle returning, I could be wrong. I was pissed because today we had super weapons on every map and I kept lagging out and eventually got sick of it
. I think I found the problem, a trojan horse that apparantly came from downloading off of I-Tunes (damn apple mfs! Anyway my appologies for being in a bad mood today, this was the reason.

I don't think it has to much to do with time Knave, because I've been having some lag sporadic lag issues too! Best I can guess is somewhere along the line...the network is wiggin out...or not performing to well. Possibly due to wether.KnaveSkye wrote:meh, you are just on at the wrong times. granted im out til late february, but if you ever catch me, general and drae at the same time, its usually a decent game of carball. Have any of you guys ever changed the settings for your netspeed in your ini ?
I had some issues when the game first came out and i messed with it quite a bit until i got in an area where it was playable.
Last time i played i had my netspeed set at 8K ...
In case you wann read up a little about it....Here !
So how do we set the netspeed? Open up your User.ini and go to the section titled [Engine.Player]. Under this section, there should be a field titled ConfiguredInternetSpeed. Set this to 15000. So are we done? Not quite... for some reason, after a map change your netspeed is reset to 10000. To get around this, make a bind that simply sets the netspeed to 15000. The easiest way to accomplish this is to bind it to your "gl hf" key or your Ready-Up key, or something else you will hit at the beginning of every game. The command to change netspeed is simply "netspeed 15000" (no quotation marks). For example, my bind looks like this:
NumPad1=GL HF | netspeed 15000
The pipe character denotes multiple commands per bind.
Just remember to hit the bind every time a new map loads, and you'll be enjoying high FPS!
Here is the whole article i found : http://www.fragzrusgaming.com/viewtopic ... e2d9682d53
There is alot better ones out there but this is just to give you an idea.
Good Luck !
Sorry for the long post !!!!!

I'm intensely in agreement with you on that last part General!!!General-Chainz wrote:i get the lovely lag spikes also usually its not to bad though

I hate to tell you this Intimdator, but you can jack your netspeed setting up to 500,000 and the only way it would achieve that speed is if the .ini settings of the server are also set at that limit. By default, UT2004 netspeed is set at 10000 for net, and 15000 for LAN.Intimidator wrote:Have any of you guys ever changed the settings for your netspeed in your ini ?

The reason LAN netspeed is higher, is because the distance between the server and the game terminals is much closer than it is over the net. Over a LAN connection, you've got one hop.....To the server. Over the net...you've got much more than one hop over the network before your signal actually reaches a server, and uping the transmission speed..trying to cram more info on that line is gonna lag you out more so than if you left it at a lower speed.
One thing I do notice, is that the lag spikes typically don't start until approximately 1/3 to 1/2 way into the waves. That's what leads me to believe that it's a game system snag of some kind
That's already been explained here : http://monstermadness.iforumer.com/view ... termadness
1/2 through a wave would be the time where there would be the most monsters spawned. Hence, more dud coding and more processing.
Added the to fact that this is probably also one of the more advanced RPG Invasion servers as there is a LOT going on, and the lower and slower machines start quaking in fear d=)
