I was reading on the PCI Express 2.0 it said that yes it is 100% compatible with 1.0. Only in very rare cases will the card or board not recognize it. I am hopeing I dont have that very rare problem lol

funny you mention that, as i was one of the rare cases.... man was i pissed, i specifically bought my previous motherboard because it had AGP8x and a PCIEx16 slot... come to find out that the 8800GT doesn't work in the PCIe slot (but the 3870s do!@#$) so i went and bought a P35-based board. :hwsb2:

If its any consolation, the 8800gt seems faster than the 9600gt.

9600 is not that great... only like 2 good things about it but I prefer the 8800 GTX over this.
If its any consolation, the 8800gt seems faster than the 9600gt.
